Leavitt, Kurosawa propel Desert Oasis girls past Longhorns

Haley Leavitt and Karen Kurosawa each won two events at Pavilion on Saturday to lead Desert Oasis’ girls swimming team to a 179-92 win over Legacy.

Leavitt won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 23.36 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 6:20.67, and Kurosawa took the 50 freestyle in 26.5 and the 100 freestyle in 58.67.

Centennial 192, Bonanza 101 — At Pavilion, Maddie Cartmill won the 100 butterfly in 1:11.08 and the 50 freestyle in 27.25 to lead the Bulldogs to a 192-101 win over Bonanza.

Las Vegas 175, Canyon Springs 65 — At Pavilion, Gabby Blackburn won the 100 butterfly in 1:18.28 and the 500 freestyle in 7:07.29 to propel the Wildcats to a win over the Pioneers.

Arbor View 169, Shadow Ridge 140 — 
At Pavilion, the Aggies won two of the three relays and had four individuals win events to hold off the Mustangs.

Shadow Ridge’s Caroline Brereton won the 200 individual medley (2:27.42) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.13), and Stephanie Brereton won the 200 freestyle in 2:22.5 and the 500 freestyle in 6:08.25.

Palo Verde 232, Durango 69 — At Desert Breeze, Erin Emery and Hailey Houck each took two individual events in the Panthers’ win over the Trailblazers.

Emery won the 100 butterfly (1:02.34) and the 200 freestyle (2:06.01). Houck claimed the 200 individual medley (2:14.96) and the 500 freestyle (5:24.12).

Bishop Gorman 228, Cimarron-Memorial 58 — At Desert Breeze, Marley Maluafiti and Amy Lubawy each won twice as the Gaels topped the Spartans.

Maluafiti took the 100 butterfly in 59.09 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.18. Lubawy won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.52 and the 500 freestyle in 5:23.49.

Spring Valley 149, Sierra Vista 125 — At Desert Breeze, the Grizzlies won only four of the 11 contested events but used their depth to top the Mountain Lions.

Sierra Vista’s Isabella Green won the 50 freestyle (26.14) and 200 freestyle (2:12.44), and teammate Polina Frolova took the 100 backstroke (1:15.28) and 500 freestyle (5:49.24).

Clark 158, Faith Lutheran 127 —
At Pavilion, Jayla Thirtyacre and Kimberly Sassler each took two individual events to help the Chargers beat the Crusaders.

Thirtyacre won the 200 freestyle in 2:21.45, and took the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.17. Sassler won the 100 butterfly in 1:14.52, and the 100 backstroke in 1:12.94.

Basic 175, Eldorado 86 — At Multi-Generational, Melanie Harris won the 200 freestyle (2:02.35) and 500 freestyle (5:16.66) to lead the Wolves over the Sundevils.

Foothill 178, Liberty 104 — 
At Multi-Generational, Christina Beaver, Marley Bindrup and Elizabeth Marshall each won twice to lead the Falcons over the Patriots.

Beaver won the 200 individual medley (2:59.37) and the 100 freestyle (1:07.56). Bindrup took the 50 freestyle (26.73) and 100 freestyle (1:07.56), and Marshall was first in the 500 freestyle (6:43.69) and 100 backstroke (1:20.0).

Green Valley 167, Silverado 133 —
At Multi-Generational, Smaranada Georgescu won the 100 freestyle in 56.02 and the 200 freestyle in 2:05.12 to lift the Gators by the Skyhawks.

Rancho 163, Valley 114 — At Multi-Generational, Tonicia Thomas, Patricia Matha and Breanna Lint each won twice as the Rams topped the Vikings.

Thomas took the 50 freestyle in 25.97 and the 200 individual medley in 2:22.45. Matha claimed the 100 freestyle in 58.65 and the 200 freestyle in 2:12.79, and Lint captured the 100 butterfly in 1:19.15 and the 500 freestyle in 7:05.13.

Boulder City, Tech swim past Miners
At Multi-Generational, Becca Lelles won the 100 freestyle in 55.4 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.81 as Boulder City defeated Sunrise Mountain 203-55.

Tech was a 190-61 winner over the Miners.

Cougars beat Del Sol, Virgin Valley
At Multi-Generational, Shannon Welch won the 200 individual medley (2:27.81) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.46) to lead Coronado to wins over Del Sol and Virgin Valley

The Cougars beat Del Sol 240-35 and topped Virgin Valley 200-83.

Mojave, Western top Cheyenne
At Pavilion, Azilee Moore won the 200 freestyle (2:56.84) and 100 breaststroke (1:39.6) to lead Mojave to a 106-58 win over Cheyenne.

Western’s Betzabe Sanchez and Melissa Ceballos each won two events as the Warriors beat Cheyenne, 133-49.

Sanchez took the 100 butterfly (1:53.14) and 500 freestyle (9:34.02), and Ceballos won the 100 backstroke (1:29.98) and 50 freestyle (33.8).

Jaguars split
At Pavilion, Summer Luchsinger won the 100 freestyle (54.12) and 50 freestyle (25.23) to lead Chaparral to a 115-86 win over Desert Pines.

The Jaguars claimed a 96½-55½ win over Moapa Valley.
