ROUNDUP: Moapa Valley edges Mojave in girls swimming

Kenna McMurray won two events Saturday at Multi-Generational to lift Moapa Valley’s girls swimming team to a 90-87 win over Mojave.

McMurray took the 50-yard freestyle in 34.83 seconds and the 500-yard freestyle in 7:35.87.

Vivian Pleitez won the 100 breaststroke in 1:37.78 an the 200 individual medley in 3:20.66 for Mojave.

Coronado 201, Silverado 104 — At Multi-Generational, Samantha Harrison, Alixan Mertel and Nicole Mertel each took first in two events in the Cougars’ victory over the Skyhawks.

Harrison claimed the 200 (1:59.08) and 500 freestyles (5:07.46). Alixan Mertel won the 100 butterfly (1:01.67) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.87), and Nicole Mertel captured the 50 freestyle (26.01) and 100 backstroke (1:02.72).

Del Sol 171, Chaparral 50 — At Multi-Generational, Ruth Workman won the 200 individual medley in 2:44.28 and the 500 freestyle in 7:04.58 as the Dragons downed the Cowboys.

Palo Verde 197, Arbor View 107 — At Desert Breeze, Kim Coombs and Alexis Mayhall each won twice as the Panthers defeated the Aggies.

Coombs took the 200 (2:05.44) and 500 freestyles (5:29.37). Mayhall captured the 100 butterfly (1:04.79) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.31).

Cimarron-Memorial 174, The Meadows 34 — At Municipal, Tzu Lin took the 50 freestyle in 27.06 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.42 to help the Spartans down the Mustangs.

Elaina Crawford won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.67) and the 200 individual medley (2:21.61) for The Meadows.

Las Vegas 159, Canyon Springs 107 — At Municipal, Lea Thomas won the 100 backstroke in 1:09.45 and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.61 as the Wildcats defeated the Pioneers.

Shadow Ridge 149, Faith Lutheran 141 — At Municipal, Emily Bergo and Kaytee Garcia took two individual events apiece to help the Mustangs nip the Crusaders.

Bergo won the 50 (27.92) and 200 freestyles (2:21.25), and Garcia captured the 100 butterfly (1:05.47) and 100 freestyle (58.58).

Green Valley 211, Bishop Gorman 88 — At Multi-Generational, Allie Dodds, Carlee Oswald and Aubrey Grensing each won twice as the Gators routed the Gaels.

Dodds took the 200 (1:55.94) and 500 freestyles (5:05.62). Oswald won the 100 butterfly (1:03.93) and 100 backstroke (1:01.51), and Grensing claimed the 100 freestyle (57.36) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.73).

Bonanza 215, Clark 63 — At Desert Breeze, Heidi Kratz and Jill Ozosky each won two events to lead the Bengals over the Chargers.

Kratz won the 200 freestyle (2:27.81) and 100 butterfly (1:20.31), and Ozosky took the 200 individiual medley (2:48.12) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.22).

Spring Valley 181, Rancho 77 — At Desert Breeze, Annie Lippett and Monica Mejia each won two events for the Grizzlies, who swept the relays en route to defeating the Rams.

Lippett won the 500 freestyle (6:45.73) and 100 breaststroke (1:22.13), and Mejia was first in the 100 butterfly (1:17.57) and 100 backstroke (1:14.1).

Sierra Vista 138, Desert Oasis 137 — At Desert Breeze, the Mountain Lions won two of three relays to edge the Diamondbacks.

Allison Reiplinger won the 50 freestyle (27.5) and 100 freestyle (1:00.0) for Desert Oasis.

Virgin Valley 150, Cheyenne 53 — At Municipal, Brailee Ogden won the 200 freestyle (2:26.44) and 100 freestyle (1:07.78) to lead the Bulldogs over the Desert Shields.

Desert Pines 36, Sunrise Mountain 28 — At Municipal, each team won two events, but the Jaguars edged the Miners.

Sunrise Mountain’s 200 freestyle relay team could have clinched a win for the Miners but was disqualified.

Basic 169, Valley 84 — At UNLV, Brianna Kyff won the 100 butterfly in 1:20.54 and the 200 individual medley in 2:46.09 to help the Wolves top the Vikings.

Boulder City 210, Tech 59 — At UNLV, Megan Purdy, Paige Moravec and Jena Lake each won twice as the Eagles downed the Roadrunners.

Purdy took the 100 butterfly (1:01.03) and 200 freestyle (1:56.89), Moravec captured the 100 backstroke (1:12.87) and 500 freestyle (5:44.17), and Lake claimed the 100 freestyle (56.99) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.12).

Liberty 118, Eldorado 107 — At UNLV, Heather Doughton and Jasmin Guo each captured two events as the Patriots slid by the Sundevils.

Doughton took the 100 breaststroke (1:22.74) and 50 freestyle (29.1). Guo claimed the 100 butterfly (1:18.38) and 200 individual medley (2:39).

Durango 148, Foothill 129 — At Multi-Generational, Jamie McDowell won the 200 freestyle in 2:12.78 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.22 to help the Trailblazers down the Falcons.

Foothill’s Zaineb Senn won the 50 (27.43) and 500 freestyles (6:16.47).
