ROUNDUP: Trio helps Panther girls to two wins

Xan Rafie, Erin Emery and Hannah Thompson each won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to lead Palo Verde’s girls swimming team to a 196-89 win over Clark and a 216-56 win over Spring Valley.

Rafie took the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 35.14 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.78.

Emery won the 50 freestyle in 26.72 and the 100 backstroke in 1:09.15, and Thompson captured the 100 butterfly in 1:13 and the 200 freestyle in 2:14.88.

Virgin Valley 123, Chaparral 118 — At Multi-Generational, Brailee Ogden, Brandy Montague and Tara Hansen each won twice as the Bulldogs nipped the Cowboys.

Ogden won the 100 (1:04.85) and 200 freestyles (2:21.51). Montague took the 100 backstroke in 1:25.37 and the 500 freestyle in 7:21.04, and Hansen claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:30.16 and the 200 individual medley in 2:59.55.

Foothill 176, Liberty 74 — At Multi-Generational, Melissa Flannery won the 50 freestyle in 29.19 and the 500 freestyle in 6:44.89 to help the Falcons top the Patriots.

Rancho 203, Moapa Valley 15 — At Multi-Generational, the quartet of Breanna Lint, Patricia Matha, Sofia Giner and Shania Hewett swept the eight individual swimming events and sent the Rams past the Pirates.

Lint won the 50 freestyle in 29.18 and the 100 butterfly in 1:22.21, and Matha took the 200 (2:13.94) and 500 freestyles (6:05.53).

Giner captured the 100 freestyle in 1:09.86 and the 100 backstroke in 1:17.52, and Hewett claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.99 and the 200 individual medley in 2:45.54.

Canyon Springs 139, Desert Pines 79 — At Pavilion, the Pioneers’ depth was too much for the Jaguars.

Desert Pines’ Xiomara Barahona won the 200 individual medley in 3:11.01 and the 100 butterfly in 1:29.69, and teammate McKenna Onchondo took the 100 backstroke in 1:37.18 and the 200 freestyle in 3:07.14.

Centennial 158, Arbor View 155 — At Pavilion, Maddie Lipkowitz and Rylie Miller each won twice to help the Bulldogs edge the Aggies.

Lipkowitz won the 100 backstroke in 1:10.27 and the 50 freestyle in 27.09. Miller claimed the 100 butterfly in 1:08.46 and the 200 freestyle in 2:09.78.

Coronado, Green Valley post wins — At Multi-Generational, Sammy Harrison won the 200 (1.54.12) and 500 freestyles (4:59.22) to lift Coronado to a 161½-143½ victory over Boulder City. Green Valley as a 159-146 winner over Boulder City.

Boulder City’s Alex Hubel won the 50 (23.37) and 100 freestyles (51.78), and teammate Megan Purdy took the 100 backstroke in 1:01.65 and the 200 individual medley in 2:13.18.

Bishop Gorman 220, Durango 61 — At Desert Breeze, Amy Lubawy, Marley Maluafiti, and Lindsey Englestead each won two events as the Gaels rolled past the Trailblazers.

Lubawy won the 200 freestyle (2:00.97) and 100 butterfly (1:01.56), Maluafiti took the 100 freestyle (56.84) and 500 freestyle (5:16.86), and Englestead won the 50 freestyle (25.95) and 100 backstroke (1:04.63) for the Gaels.

Desert Oasis 149, Bonanza 127 — At Desert Breeze, Allison Reiplinger won the 500 freestyle (6:04.29) and 100 backstroke (1:07.16) as the Diamondbacks held off the Bengals.

Sierra Vista 133, Western 83 — At Desert Breeze, Isabella Green, Heather Ortiz and Polina Frolova each won two events as the Mountain Lions defeated the Warriors.

Green won the 200 individual medley (2:16.19) and 100 butterfly (1:05.38), Ortiz placed first in the 50 freestyle (31.96) and 500 freestyle (7:36.07) and Frolova took the 200 freestyle (2:14.46) and 100 breaststroke (1:27.9).

Valley 177, Sunrise Mountain 74 — At Pavilion, Carly Riehemann won the 200 freestyle (2:47.38) and 500 freestyle (7:32.1), and teammate Julie Dotson won the 200 individual medley (2:43.81) and 100 butterfly (1:15.43) as the Vikings defeated the Miners.

Las Vegas 190, Eldorado 84 — At Pavilion, April Martinez won the 100 freestyle (59.55) and 500 freestyle (5:40.78) to lead the Wildcats over the Sundevils.

Eldorado’s Stacey Cuevas won the 100 backstroke (1:11.15) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.08).

Faith Lutheran 207, Mojave 45 — At Pavilion, Taylor Libbey, Morgan Myers and Caitlin Marks each won two events to help the Crusaders to the easy win.

Libbey won the 200 freestyle (2:36.54) and 100 freestyle (1:06.66) , Marks won the 200 individual medley (2:23.06) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.0), and Myers was first in the 50 freestyle (29.19) and 500 freestyle (7:12.28).

Shadow Ridge 186, Cimarron-Memorial 106 — At Pavilion, Sarah Miller won the 500 freestyle (5:31.82) and 100 backstroke (1:10.41) to lead the Mustangs over the Spartans.
