SWIMMING: Letkiewisz, Linton lead Arbor View girls over Grizzlies

 

Alicia Letkiewisz and Raina Linton each won two individual events Saturday to help Arbor View’s girls swimming team to a 228-62 win over Spring Valley at Desert Breeze.

Letkiewisz won the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 17.87 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 2:39.71. Linton took the 200 freestyle in 2:16.99 and the 500 freestyle in 6:13.28.

Bishop Gorman 230, Legacy 55 — At Desert Breeze, Marley Maluafiti and Olivia Barker each won twice as the Gaels topped the Longhorns.

Maluafiti took the 50 freestyle in 24.79 and the 100 freestyle in 55.46. Barker claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:54.38 and the 100 backstroke in 1:00.26.

Centennial 207, Cimarron-Memorial 75 — At Desert Breeze, Marissa Hannah, Maddie Cartmill and Maddie Lipkowitz won two events apiece as the Bulldogs swam past the Spartans.

Hannah captured the 100 butterfly in 1:08.93 and the 200 individual medley in 2:27.02. Cartmill took the 50 freestyle in 27.43 and the 100 freestyle in 58.44, and Lipkowitz claimed the 200 freestyle in 2:04.72 and the 500 freestyle in 5:21.62.

Palo Verde 214, Shadow Ridge 100 — At Pavilion, Kasdyn Rafie, Erin Emery and Isabella Goldsmith each won two individual events to power the Panthers by the Mustangs.

Rafie won the 200 freestyle in 2:07 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.69. Emery took the 200 individual medley in 2:22.19 and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.28, and Goldsmith claimed the 100 freestyle in 58.46 and the 500 freestyle in 5:16.89.

Rancho 171, Canyon Springs 87 —At Pavilion, Patricia Matha, Tonicia Thomas and Isabella Betkowski each won two individual events to propel the Rams over the Pioneers.

Matha took the top spot in the 200 individual medley (2:31.46) and the 100 butterfly (1:18.22). Thomas placed first in the 50 freestyle (25.81) and the 100 backstroke (1:01), and Betkowski captured the 500 freestyle (7:10.31) and the 100 breaststroke (1:25.57). 

Sierra Vista 178, Durango 101 — At Pavilion, Polina Frolova won the 100 butterfly (1:10.47) and the 100 breaststroke (1:27.34), and teammate Isabella Green took the 100 freestyle (59.39) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.59) to help power the Mountain Lions past the Trailblazers.

Anna Ward captured the 200 individual medley (2:47.14) and the 500 freestyle (6:24.01) for Durango.

Desert Oasis 149, Bonanza 119 — At Pavilion, Karen Kurosawa took the top spot in the 500 freestyle (5:55.57) and the 100 backstroke (1:13.22) to lift the Diamondbacks over the Bengals.

Jordan Crosby won the 200 freestyle (2:26.25) and the 500 freestyle (29.3) for Bonanza.

Boulder City 158, Silverado 125 — At Multi-Generational, Alex Hubel and Jessica Purdy each took two individual events to help the Eagles hold off the Skyhawks.

Hubel won the 100 freestyle in 53.96 and the 200 individual medley in 2:14.9. Purdy took the 100 butterfly in 1:00.65 and the 100 backstroke in 1:07.63.

Tech 177, Chaparral 91 — At Multi-Generational, Mandie Stanton won the 500 freestyle in 6:57.20 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:27.9 to lead the Roadrunners over the Cowboys.

Summer Luchsinger took first in the 200 freestyle (1:56.37) and 50 freestyle (25.62) for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 166, Valley 112 — At Multi-Generational, Rachel Byington and Gabbi Blackburn each won two events as the Wildcats tamed the Vikings.

Byington took the 200 individual medley (2:55.4) and the 100 butterfly (1:18.26), and Blackburn finished first in the 50 freestyle (29.66) and the 100 breaststroke (1:27.07).

Sunrise Mountain 120, Virgin Valley 81 — At Municipal, Olga Linares won the 50 freestyle in 32.71 and the 100 freestyle in 1:14.1 to lead the Miners by the Bulldogs.

Virgin Valley’s Brandy Montague won the 100 backstroke in 1:18.26 and was first in diving with 64.1 points.

Crusaders post sweep
At Municipal, Hannah Price, Rori Conners and Kathleen Wright each took two individual events as Faith Lutheran posted a 186-66 win over Desert Pines and a 218-45 win over Mojave.

Price took the 100 freestyle in 1:06.02 and the 200 freestyle in 2:26.2. Conners won the 50 freestyle in 28.54 and the 100 backstroke in 1:14.32, and Wright claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:25.08 and the 100 butterfly in 1:19.43.
