BOYS TENNIS: Bishop Gorman ends Clark’s 68-match win streak

Bishop Gorman’s boys tennis team swept the doubles sets Tuesday en route to an 11-7 Southwest League road victory over Clark, snapping the Chargers’ 68-match win streak.

The teams of Jack Silvestri and Matt Lamb, Michael Connors and Grant Rogers, and Cole Davidson and Lucas Hammond each went 3-0 for the 2015 Division I state champs.

Marcus Pasimio went 3-0 for Clark, which won the Division I-A (now Class 3A) title last year, but moved up to Class 4A this season. Clark’s last loss was Aug. 24, 2012, when Centennial beat the Chargers, 11-7.

Las Vegas 10, Rancho 8 — At Las Vegas, Emmanuel Berrelleza was 3-0 in singles as the Wildcats edged the Rams.

Trey Chauncey and Jonathan Sosa went 3-0 in doubles for Las Vegas.

Bernardo Gutierrez went 2-0 for Rancho and Luis Moreno-Arias finished 2-1 in singles.

Sierra Vista 11, Spring Valley 7 — At Sierra Vista, Ryan McCoy and Rahul Gupte each went 3-0 in singles to guide the Mountain Lions to victory over the Grizzlies.

The doubles teams of Tyler Sunstrum and Raymond Dang, and Justin Wenger and Thomas Wenger both finished 2-1 for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley’s Dominic Morimando and Jaxson Otis went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Mountain Lions.

Moapa Valley 11, Virgin Valley 7 — At Overton, Jake Leavitt and Slade Graham went 2-1 in doubles to help the Pirates outlast the Bulldogs.

Chris Cannon was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Tyson Wilson and Ryan Rushton was 3-0 for Virgin Valley.

Foothill 12, Eldorado 6 — At Foothill, Joel Benavidez went 2-1 in singles to help the Falcons top the Sundevils.

Eldorado’s Tanner Howard was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Jordan Eldred and Miguel Rodriguez went 2-1 for the Sundevils.

Bonanza 11, Durango 7 — At Durango, Weston Clark and Sylvester Scott each finished 3-0 in singles as the Bengals downed the Trailblazers.

Palo Verde 18, Centennial 0 — At Palo Verde, Dylan Levitt, Jaden Atkin, and Axel Botticelli each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers blanked the Bulldogs.

The doubles teams of Sam Soderborg and Davis Waid, Jack Kostrinsky and Noah Brandt, and Michael Safbom and Hayden Huckfeldt each went 2-0 for Palo Verde.

Faith Lutheran 18, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Kyle Avery went 3-0 to help the Crusaders top the Mustangs.

Maxwell Blum and Michel Markontonis each went 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

The doubles teams of Zach Smith and Donovan Evangelio, Jonah Grepke and Sam Hertig, and Jack Marshall and Ryan Brooks each went 2-0.

Arbor View 16, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, the Aggies topped the Spartans.

Boulder City 18, Del Sol 0 — At Boulder City, the Eagles blanked the Dragons.

Valley 9, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, the Vikings beat the Pioneers.

Tech 12, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, the Roadrunners won by forfeit.

Desert Pines 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Desert Pines, the Jaguars beat the Desert Shields by forfeit.
