Bishop Gorman’s girls and Palo Verde’s boys look to continue state title streaks as the tennis season begins this fall.
Gorman’s girls have won three consecutive state titles. The Gaels edged Sunrise Region champ Coronado 10-8 to win last season’s crown. Gorman returns defending state singles champion Anita Lee this fall.
Palo Verde won its second consecutive boys team title last season, beating Bonanza 13-5 in the title match.
Bonanza and Palo Verde have combined to win the last seven state championships.
The Bengals should push the Panthers again, with defending state doubles champs Aashish Daulat and Andrew Whiting back this fall.
