ROUNDUP: Del Rosario, Miller help Gorman boys nip Bonanza in key matchup

Kyle Del Rosario and Cody Miller each went 3-0 in singles play Thursday, and Bishop Gorman’s boys tennis team nosed past visiting Bonanza in a tiebreaker to post a 10-9 win in a key Southwest League matchup.
After the teams split the 18 regulation sets, Gorman won four of the six tiebreaker games to improve to 6-0 in league play.
The Gaels would clinch the league’s No. 1 seed for the Sunset Region tournament with a win in either of their two remaining league matches. One of those matches is against Western, which has forfeited all of its matches for having fewer than the six players required for team competition.
Bonanza’s doubles teams of Craig Whiting and Cru Leavitt, and Reed Thuet and Trevor Jacobson each posted 3-0 finishes. The Bengals slipped to 5-1 in league play, good for sole possession of second place.
Green Valley 10, Liberty 9 — At Liberty, Tristan McCord and Alex Zbiegien were 3-0 in doubles, and the Gators nipped the Patriots in a tiebreaker.
After the teams split the 18 regulation sets, Green Valley won four of the six tiebreaker games to capture the victory.
The Patriots’ Chitnarong Sopat was 3-0 in singles.
Silverado 10, Del Sol 8 — At Silverado, Todd Vincent won all three of his doubles sets to help the Skyhawks edge the Dragons.
Anthony Gugino and Tommy Gugino went 3-0 in doubles to lead Del Sol.
Foothill 13, Boulder City 5 — At Foothill, Drew Mortensen and Dylan Hansel each went 3-0 in singles to help the Falcons top the Eagles.
Sean Hickey and Brent Hickey went 2-1 in doubles for Boulder City.
Basic 12, Tech 6 — At Tech, Paul Castolo and Dylan Nanni went 2-0 in doubles as the Wolves topped the Roadrunners.
Carlos Delgadillo went 3-0 in singles for the Roadrunners.
Moapa Valley 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Overton, Sterling Waite and Brad Mulcock went 3-0 in doubles as the Pirates defeated the Miners.
Camden Stratton, Jared Dimmick and Kade Bryant all went 2-0 in singles for Moapa Valley.

Valley 11, Rancho 7 —
At Rancho, Mitchell Diesko and Jack Heavey each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Vikings to a win.
Eric Herring and David Delaney went 3-0 in doubles for Valley.
Chaparral 17, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Eric Hansen, Bryan Newman and Martelle Barlaw all went 3-0 in singles as the Cowboys breezed past the Jaguars.
Jelani Francisco and Paul Pasario went 3-0 in doubles for Chaparral.
Las Vegas 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Las Vegas High, the Wildcats won by forfeit.
