ROUNDUP: Desert Pines downs Las Vegas for first boys tennis win of season

Marcus James and Josh Alaniz each went 3-0 in singles Thursday as host Desert Pines’ boys tennis team won its only match of the season, downing Las Vegas, 10-8, to knock the Wildcats out of a potential playoff spot.

The doubles team of Brady Page and Brayden Pikyavit went 3-0 for the Wildcats.

Rancho 11, Canyon Springs 7 — At Canyon Springs, Spencer Keane and Kamran Baig went 3-0 in doubles as Rancho locked up second place in the Northeast League by topping the Pioneers.

Josh Jones and Ishmael Gibson each went 3-0 in singles for Canyon Springs.

Eldorado 10, Moapa Valley 9 — At Moapa Valley, the doubles teams of Alan Guerrero and Elliott Aleman, and Dalton Carpenello and Jacob Martinez each went 3-0 in doubles as Eldorado nipped the Pirates in a tiebreaker.

Timo Musiol was 3-0 in singles for Moapa Valley. Parker Smith and Ryan Bessey each went 2-1 in singles for the Pirates.

Valley 12, Chaparral 6 — At Chaparral, Jason Lockard went 3-0 in singles as the Vikings defeated the Cowboys.

Tylor Ross and Tong Tay went 2-0 in doubles play for Valley.

D.J. Grassie went 2-1 in singles for Chaparral. Juan Morales and Trever Koffaro went 2-1 in doubles.

Liberty 10, Basic 9 — At Basic, the Patriots topped the Wolves 4-2 in a tiebreaker.

Cyrus Wongwui and Marcelo Rios went 3-0 in doubles play to lead Liberty.

Mike Feher went 3-0 in singles for Basic.

Foothill 16, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Dylan Ellis and Chris Clementi each went 2-0 in singles play, and Danny Dion and Kevin Dion went 2-0 in doubles to lead the Falcons over the Dragons.

The teams of David Witt and Nick Gegan, and Cody Souza and Dylan Hansel each went 2-0 in doubles for Foothill.

Green Valley 13, Silverado 5 — At Green Valley, the Gators downed the Skyhawks.

Coronado 18, Tech 0 — At Tech, the Cougars didn’t lose a set.

Bishop Gorman 17, Durango 1 — At Darling Tennis Center, the doubles teams of Alec Thomas and Kyle DelRosario, and Diego Gutierrez and Ryan Hidajat each went 3-0 as Gorman rolled past the Trailblazers.

Tyler Tucky was 3-0 in singles for the Gaels. Andrew Raphaelson and Cody Miller each went 2-0 in singles.

Spring Valley 16, Desert Oasis 2 — At Spring Valley, Joe Miceli and Kenny To each went 3-0 in singles to help the Grizzlies down Desert Oasis.

The doubles teams of David Bloom and A.J. Camino, and Spencer Gubler and Jevar Luu each went 2-0 for Spring Valley.

Sierra Vista 10, Clark 8 — At Sierra Vista Zach Wardle went 3-0 in singles to lead the Lions over the Chargers.

Jason Gee and Daniel Won went 3-0 in doubles play for Clark.

Bonanza 16, Western 2 — At Bonanza, Jared Hyer went 2-0 in singles to help the Bengals down the Warriors.

Shadow Ridge 13, Cheyenne 5 — At Cheyenne, Shadow Ridge swept the singles matches as Jeff Elmer, Brandin Kurtz and Kyle Smith each went 3-0 to lift the Mustangs past the Desert Shields.

Morgan Sandberg and T.J. Lacomb went 3-0 in doubles for Cheyenne. Mark Gederos and Justin Daly were 2-1 in doubles.

Cimarron-Memorial 10, Legacy 8 — At Cimarron-Memorial, Aaron Bowers was 3-0 in singles to help the Spartans nip the Longhorns.
Chad Wada and Eddie Williams went 3-0 in doubles for Cimarron.

Lyman Chan was 2-1 in singles for Legacy. Kevin Noorda and John Shug were 2-1 in doubles for the Longhorns.

Centennial 17, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Centennial, Austin Howell and Travis Beck each went 3-0 in singles to help the Bulldogs rout the Crusaders.

The doubles teams of Kyle Johnson and Tyler Gietzen, Josh Arias and Tyler Rogers, and Patrick Bolton and Brandon Fish each went 2-0 for Centennial.

Palo Verde 15, The Meadows 3 — At The Meadows, Palo Verde won its 53rd consecutive dual match, downing the Mustangs.

Arbor View 17, Mojave 1 — At Arbor View, the Aggies rolled past the Rattlers.
