ROUNDUP: Doubles teams propel Chaparral boys past Tech

The doubles teams of Kody Belding and Matthew Terry, and Zack Harman and Brian Moya each went 3-0 on Thursday to help Chaparral’s boys tennis team to an 11-7 home win over Tech.

Tad Pushard and Eduardo Jimenez were 2-0 in doubles for the Cowboys.

Christian Valle was 3-0 in singles for the Roadrunners.

Bonanza 11, Legacy 7 — At Bonanza, Andy Stephenson was 3-0 in singles to lead the Bengals past the Longhorns.

Jacob Mabey and Andrew Malek were 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Bishop Gorman 13, Desert Oasis 5 — At Desert Oasis, Sam Sholeff went 3-0 in singles as the Gaels downed the Diamondbacks.

Conner Pensivy and Matt Land were 3-0 in doubles for Gorman.

Bryce Tacker was 2-1 in singles for Desert Oasis.

Centennial 18, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Parker McDonough went 3-0 in singles as the Bulldogs blanked the Spartans.

Lucas Lee and Max Novak went 3-0 in doubles for Centennial.

Faith Lutheran 12, Western 6 — At Faith Lutheran, Jack Stevens went 3-0 in singles to help the Crusaders top the Warriors.

Mario Stadtlander and Joey Ritorto each went 2-1 in singles, and Marc Beccue and Mitch Taylor were 2-1 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.

Josh Yocum and Sky Tillmond were 3-0 in doubles, and Ryan Garbowski was 2-1 in singles for Western.

Clark 16, Adelson School 2 — At Adelson School, Andrew Lim and Deric Pang each went 2-0 in singles to help the Chargers rout the Lions.

Chitanya Ingle and Kenny Daniels teamed to go 2-0 in doubles for Clark.

Valley 18, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Philip Gustilo and Brandon Rinker each went 3-0 in singles as the Vikings blanked the Pioneers.

Valley’s doubles teams of Matt Ballaro and Marty Heavey, and Samson Haile and Colton Myhre each went 3-0.

Virgin Valley 16, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Mesquite, Kadan Atkin and Zach Seamann each went 2-0 in singles as the Bulldogs cruised past the Miners.

Moapa Valley 16, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, the Pirates rolled past the Jaguars.

Las Vegas 9, Rancho 9 — At Rancho, the teams split their 18 regulation sets, but darkness forced the suspension of the match before the tiebreaker could be played. The match will resume on Sept. 20.

The Meadows 12, Mojave 0 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Centennial 13, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, the doubles teams of McKay Novak and Danielle Gordon, and Jade Novato and Genica Chow each went 3-0 as the Bulldogs topped the Spartans.

Kim Sanchez went 3-0 in singles for Cimarron.  

Valley 15, Canyon Springs 3 — At Valley, Jolie Katz, Diondra Dilworth and Brooke Harding all went 3-0 in singles as the Vikings topped the Pioneers.

The doubles teams of Stephanie Taing and Olivia Jensen, Soraya Peron and Megan Jones, and

Daisy Ramirez and Alexis Dutton all went 2-1 for Valley.

Bishop Gorman 16, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, Lauren Willmore and Morgan Matley went 3-0 in doubles as the Gaels defeated the Diamondbacks.

Taylor Larreau and Marisol Avilla both went 2-0 in singles for Gorman.

Moapa Valley 10, Desert Pines 8 — At Desert Pines, the Pirates held on to beat the Jagaurs.

Mekham Singkhamta and Ashley Palacios were 3-0 in doubles for Desert Pines.

Las Vegas 11, Rancho 7 — At Rancho, Selena Torres and Giovanna Hilson each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Wildcats over the Rams.

Charmaine Andres and Jenny Deng were 3-0 in doubles.

Tech 11, Chaparral 7 — At Chaparral, Katrina Sta Cruz was 2-0 in singles as the Roadrunners downed the Cowboys.

Alicia Ramirez and Nancy Herrera were 3-0 in doubles for Chaparral, which got a 2-1 effort in singles from Ginger Siu.

Clark 10, Adelson School 6 — At Adelson School, Sharon Fang was 2-0 in singles to help the Chargers top the Lions.

Adelson’s Jessica Lally went 3-0 in singles.

Virgin Valley 10, Sunrise Mountain 8 — At Mesquite, Sara Anderson and Kayla Grimm went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Bulldogs to victory over the Miners.

Eli Velasquez and Michelle Lozano were 2-1 in doubles for the Miners.
