ROUNDUP: Durango boys top Arbor View in play-in match

Durango’s boys tennis team took advantage of a second chance Saturday, holding off visiting Arbor View 10-8 to capture a play-in match to earn a spot in the Division I Sunset Region tournament.

Donovan Tracy was 3-0 in singles for the Aggies, who forced the play-in match by finishing off a 10-8 win over the Trailblazers earlier Saturday. The opener was the completion of a match suspended on Sept. 14 because of darkness.

Chaparral 10, Tech 9 — At Tech, the Cowboys won five of the six tiebreaker games to nip the Roadrunners in the completion of a match suspended on Sept. 20 due to darkness.

The Cowboys earned the Sunrise League’s No. 1 seed for the Division I-A Southern Region tournament.

Durango 11, Arbor View 7 — At Durango, Sabrina Foreman, Anne Jiang and Sarah Wondom all went 3-0 in singles as the Trailblazers locked up the final playoff berth in the Northwest League by beating the Aggies in the completion of a match suspended Sept. 14 due to darkness.
