ROUNDUP: Long, Weldon post sweep as Basic boys cruise past Silverado
Tyler Long and Ryan Weldon went 3-0 in doubles play Thursday to help Basic’s boys tennis team cruise past visiting Silverado, 13-5.
Dylan Nanni and Paul Costolo were 2-0 in doubles for Basic.
Bishop Gorman 14, Desert Oasis 4— At Gorman, Tyler Tucky and Michael Bessen went 3-0 in doubles, and Chris Nouis was 2-0 in singles to help the Gaels handle the Diamondbacks.
Greg Ciucci and Joey Javier were 2-0 in doubles for Gorman.
Mike Co and Garrison Lopez each finished 2-1 in singles for Desert Oasis.
Centennial 14, Cimarron-Memorial 4 — At Cimarron, Travis Beck, Lucas Lee and Justin Roll all went 2-0 in singles as Centennial cruised to victory over the Spartans.
The doubles teams of Brandon Fish and Josh Arias, Drake Sacenti and Tyler Collins, and Gregory Madsen and Casey Moses all went 2-0 for the Bulldogs.
Palo Verde 18, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Palo Verde, Hadrien Saperstein went 2-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Jeremy Mann and Zach Bellon also went 2-0 as the Panthers blanked the Mustangs.
Bonanza 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Bonanza, Matt Figgins was 3-0 in singles as the Bengals downed the Mountain Lions.
Bonanza’s Cru Leavitt and Nick Lowry were 3-0 in doubles.
Liberty 11, Boulder City 7 — At Liberty, Gil Lim went 3-0 in singles, and teammates Michael Loreto and Kyle Kaleb were 3-0 in doubles as the Patriots defeated Boulder City.
The Meadows 10, Faith Lutheran 9 — At Faith Lutheran, Max Novak was 3-0 in singles, and the Mustangs edged the Crusaders in a tiebreaker.
Evan Roth and Ryan Wells went 3-0 in doubles for the Mustangs, who won four of the six tiebreaker games to clinch the victory.
Coronado 15, Green Valley 3 — At Green Valley, Kai Carl and Xavier Smith went 3-0 in doubles as the Cougars cruised past the Gators.
Mitchell Smith, Cassell King and Sam Cohen all went 2-0 in singles for Coronado.
Durango 15, Virgin Valley 3 — At Mesquite, the Trailblazers routed the Bulldogs.
Foothill 18, Tech 0 — At Foothill, the Falcons swept the Roadrunners.
Arbor View 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Arbor View, the Aggies won by forfeit.
