Roundup: Palo Verde tops Gorman to advance to regional final

Bishop Gorman, Jack Kostrinksy, Axel Botticelli and Denim Richardson all finished 3-0 in singles as Palo Verde’s boys tennis team defeated Bishop Gorman 12-6 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers (13-2) play Clark in the Class 4A Sunset Region final at 11 a.m. Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.

Gorman finished 13-2.

Clark 14, Desert Oasis 4 — At Clark, Artem Iermolov posted a 3-0 record in singles as the Chargers disposed of the Diamodnbacks in the other Sunset semifinal.

Michael Pasimio and Simran Shah were 3-0 in doubles play for Clark (16-0).

Desert Oasis finished 10-5.

Class 4A Sunrise Region

Coronado 16, Liberty 2 — At Coronado, Jack Hambrook and Akhil Mohan went 3-0 in doubles to help the Cougars (12-0) top the Patriots in the Sunrise Region semifinals.

Coronado (12-0) plays Green Valley (10-2) in the Sunrise final at 2 p.m. Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.

Liberty finished 8-5.

Green Valley 10, Foothill 8 — At Foothill, Ryan Elezra was 3-0 in singles as the Gators (10-2) edged the Falcons (10-4).

The doubles teams of Andrew Hauck and Brandon Maroushek, and Travis Weber and Landon Henderson both finished 3-0 to lead Foothill.

Class 3A Southern Region

Boulder City 16, Desert Pines 2 — At Boulder City, the Eagles routed the Jaguars in the Class 3A Southern Region semifinals.

Boulder City (17-0) plays The Meadows (15-0) in the final at 8 a.m. Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.

Desert Pines finished 14-5.

The Meadows 17, Moapa Valley 1 — At the Meadows, the Mustangs rolled past the Pirates in the other semifinal.

Moapa Valley finished 10-5.
