Roundup: Spring Valley wins close match with Sierra Vista

Vangeli Zimmerman and Kyle Moser each went 3-0 in singles to lift Spring Valley’s boy’s tennis team to a 10-8 victory over Sierra Vista on Wednesday afternoon.

Alex Chavira and Tyler Sunstrum went 3-0 in doubles for Sierra Vista. Aleksander Bolta and James Schneider also went 3-0 in doubles for the Mountain Lions.

The Meadows 11, Mojave 7 — At Mojave, Andrew Little was 3-0 in singles to help the Mustangs down the Rattlers.

Eurico Rodriguez-Cardenas finished 2-1 in singles to pace Mojave.

Bishop Gorman 15, Cimarron-Memorial 3 — At Gorman, the Gaels coasted past the Spartans.

Riley Griffith, Mark Ward and Suraj Kandoth each posted 2-0 records in singles play for Gorman.

Basic 15, Valley 3 — At Valley, Garrison Stinnett went 3-0 in singles as the Wolves routed the Vikings.

Jacob Cunanan and Chris Jepson went 2-0 in doubles for Basic.

Nicholas Jianu was 2-1 in singles for Valley.

Palo Verde 18, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Benjamin Waid was 3-0 in singles as the Panthers shut out the Mustangs.

The doubles team of Travis Clingman and Jack Hughes also went 3-0 for Palo Verde.

Bonanza 14, Durango 4 — At Durango, Justin Balconi and Mark Thuet each went 3-0 in singles play as the Bengals topped the Trailblazers.

Dylan Olivier and Jovan Lubura went 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Desert Oasis 10, Faith Lutheran 8 — At Desert Oasis, Ogi Zekanovic was 3-0 in singles as the Diamondbacks edged the Crusaders.

Maxwell Blum went 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran. Liam Stumacher and Sam Hertig finished 2-1 in doubles for the Crusaders.

Clark 15, Centennial 3 — At Centennial, Rahul Gupte was 2-0 in singles as the Chargers routed the Bulldogs.

The doubles teams of Aria Khiabani and Michael Pasimio, and Simran Shah and Rajeev Jayaweera both went 2-0 for Clark.

Justin Madsen finished 2-1 in singles to pace Centennial.

Desert Pines 12, Western 0 — At Western, the Jaguars won by forfeit.

Rancho 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Rancho, the Rams defeated Cheyenne by forfeit.

Arbor View 12, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, the Aggies won by forfeit.

Liberty 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Liberty, the Patriots defeated the Pioneers by forfeit.

Adelson School 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Adelson School, the Lions beat the Miners by forfeit.

The Meadows boys tennis team won the Class 4A state title Friday in Reno. The Boulder City boys and girls lost to Northern teams in the 3A title matches.
