TENNIS: Arbor View boys sweep singles sets to win Sunset quarterfinal

Nevin Ly, Ashton Arizmendez and Alec Kline each went 3-0 in singles Monday to lead Arbor View’s boys tennis team to a 13-5 win over visiting Legacy in a Sunset Region quarterfinal.
The doubles teams of Dustin Leavitt and Travis Norland, and John David and Lucas Cordova each went 2-1 for the Aggies (7-4), who will visit Palo Verde (12-0) in a region semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The doubles teams of Austin Michals and Willie Valdez, and Devin Garrett and Diego Portillo each went 2-1 for the Longhorns (4-7).
Palo Verde 16, Bonanza 2 — At Palo Verde, Rhett Bossung and Danny Patho each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers beat the Bengals (5-9).
The doubles teams of Conor Safbom and Brandon Sulzberg, Teijiro Nishimura and Kota Cook, and Davis Waid and Sam Soderborg each went 2-0 for Palo Verde.
Bishop Gorman 14, Desert Oasis 4 — At Gorman, the doubles teams of Conner Pensivy and Jason Kitonis, and Daniel Kinas and Jack Silvestri each went 2-0 as the Gaels downed the Diamondbacks.
Gorman (7-2) will visit Centennial (10-2) in a region semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Ben Gajardo was 3-0 in singles for Desert Oasis (5-6).
Centennial 14, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Centennial, Benjamin Seigle, Raul Saucedo and Connor Paul each went 2-0 in singles as the Bulldogs defeated the Mustangs (3-8).
The doubles teams of Derick Sosa and Matthew Boggess, and Andrew Boggess and Thomas Felt each went 2-0 for Centennial.
SUNRISE REGION
Foothill 14, Las Vegas 4 — At Foothill, Jacob Woodworth was 1-0 in singles to help the Falcons (7-5) top the Wildcats (6-5).
Foothill either will host Basic or visit Liberty in a region semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Coronado 17, Silverado 1 — At Coronado, Sam Grant and Ryland McDermott each went 3-0 in singles as the Cougars (12-0) routed the Skyhawks (3-8).
Coronado will host Green Valley (8-4) in a region semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Green Valley 16, Valley 2 — At Valley, the Gators defeated the Vikings (8-4).
DIVISION I-A SOUTHERN REGION
Faith Lutheran 10, Del Sol 9 — At Del Sol, Mario Stadtlander and Jack Stevens each went 3-0 in singles, and the Crusaders won a tiebreaker to nip the Dragons.
The teams split their 18 regulation sets and each won three of the six tiebreakers, but Faith Lutheran outscored Del Sol, 33-30, to secure the win.
Matt Shuirman and Brandon Brighi went 2-1 in doubles for Faith Lutheran (10-4), which will visit The Meadows (11-2) in the region semifinals at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Jonathon Hart and Alex Walker were 3-0 in doubles for Del Sol (12-1). The doubles teams of Christian Wallace and Matt Styck, and Zach Trujillo and Andres Limon each went 2-1 for the Dragons.
The Meadows 16, Virgin Valley 2 — At The Meadows, Matthew Lamb was 2-0 in singles to help the Mustangs top the Bulldogs (5-6).
Daniel Pereira and Luke Artusa were 2-0 in doubles for The Meadows.
Spring Valley 11, Moapa Valley 7 — At Overton, Eric Clark, Christopher Zimmerman and Dominic Morimando each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Grizzlies by the Pirates (7-3).
Spring Valley (8-3) will visit Clark (12-0) in a region semifinal at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Clark 18, Desert Pines 0 — At Clark, the Chargers swept the Jaguars (7-6).
GIRLS
Sierra Vista 10, Mojave 9 — At Mojave, Averiana Mitchell went 3-0 in singles, and the Mountain Lions won a tiebreaker to top the Rattlers in the completion of a match suspended Thursday because of darkness.
The teams split the 18 regulation sets, and each won three of the six tiebreakers, but Sierra Vista outscored Mojave, 33-30, in the tiebreakers to secure the win and a spot in the Division I-A Southern Region playoffs.
Janae Newton was 2-1 in singles for Sierra Vista.
Olympia Aguilar and Miranda Sanders went 3-0 in doubles for Mojave. Bianca Liriano was 2-1 in singles, and Jenna Garduno and Poleth Rodriguez were 2-1 in doubles for the Rattlers.
