TENNIS: Del Sol boys clinch Sunrise League title with win over Bulldogs

Del Sol’s boys tennis team swept nine doubles sets Tuesday en route to clinching the Sunrise League title with a 14-4 home win over Virgin Valley.

The teams of Jonathon Hart and Alex Walker, Christian Wallace and Matt Styck, and Zack Trujillo and Andres Limon all went 3-0 for the Dragons, who had never qualified for the postseason prior to this year.

Chris Cannon was 2-1 in singles for the Bulldogs.

Las Vegas 11, Silverado 7 — At Silverado, Trey Chauncey and Trevor Christiansen were 3-0 in doubles to help the Wildcats top the Skyhawks.

Ryan Pappas was 3-0 in singles, and Lawson Borla and Levi Schleuning each went 2-1 in singles for Silverado.

Adelson School 11, Western 5 — At Western, Jacob Elharrar and Niv Shahmoon went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Lions by the Warriors.

Ainsley Osawa was 2-0 in singles for Western.

Eldorado 13, Durango 4 — At Durango, the doubles teams of Tyler Schlei and Dakota Shults, and Jordan Eldred and Justin Sith both went 2-0 in doubles to help the Sundevils roll past the Trailblazers.

Centennial 14, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, Raul Saucedo, Connor Paul and Noah Siegle all went 2-0 in singles to help the Bulldogs down the Aggies.

The doubles teams of Matthew Boggess and Derick Sosa, Mitchell Stratton and Tanner Durkin, and Andrew Boggess and Thomas Felt all went 2-0 for Centennial.

Clark 15, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Clark, Michael Pasimio was 3-0 in singles to power the Chargers past the Crusaders.

Moapa Valley 16, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Andy Beckstrand went 3-0 in singles to lead the Pirates past the Miners.

The Meadows 15, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, the Mustangs downed the Mountain Lions.

Liberty 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Patriots won by forfeit.

Mojave 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Rattlers won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Faith Lutheran 14, Clark 4 — At Clark, Kathleen Wright went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders secured the Sunset League title with a win over the Chargers.

Kristina Berg and Talia Graf finished 2-0 in doubles.

Arbor View 10, Centennial 9 — At Arbor View, the doubles teams of Chaise Sandoval and Nikki D’Arienzo, and Sara Long and Keara Lawson both went 3-0, and the Aggies won a tiebreaker to edge the Bulldogs.

After the teams split their 18 regulation sets, Arbor View won five of the six tiebreaker games to clinch the victory.

Kaitlin McDaniel was 3-0 in singles for Centennial.

Bonanza 10, Desert Oasis 9 — At Desert Oasis, Lauren Smith went 3-0 in singles to help the Bengals edge the Diamondbacks.

The teams split their 18 regulation sets, and each squad won three of the six tiebreakers, but Bonanza outscored Desert Oasis, 38-34 in the tiebreakers to secure the win.

Steffi Del Rosario and Sabrina Otero won all three of their doubles sets to lead Desert Oasis.

Silverado 11, Las Vegas 7 — At Silverado, Samantha Arteaga and Jenna Wyson went 3-0 in doubles to help the Skyhawks top the Wildcats.

Criszelle Castro was 2-1 in singles, and Alexis Koogler and Savannah Goodall were 2-1 in doubles for Silverado.

Karla Torrez was 3-0 in singles, and Skye Brower and Jocelyn Leyva were 2-1 in doubles for Las Vegas.

Mojave 10, Cheyenne 6 — At Cheyenne, Olympia Aguilar and Miranda Sanders went 3-0 in doubles as the Rattlers beat the Desert Shields in a match that was halted due to darkness.

Beanca Liriano was 2-0 in singles for Mojave.

Gabi Denton was 2-0 in singles, and Cierra McFarland and Destiny Rose finished 2-1 in doubles to lead Cheyenne.

Del Sol 11, Virgin Valley 7 — At Del Sol, Alina Marruffo and Milady Ramirez each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Dragons by the Bulldogs.

Jamie Fails and Resha Bunker were 3-0 in doubles for Virgin Valley.

Desert Oasis 12, Bonanza 6 — At Desert Oasis, Ben Gajardo and Bryce Tacker each went 3-0 in singles to help the Diamondbacks beat the Bengals.

Weston Clark and Justin Balconi went 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Eldorado 12, Durango 6 — At Durango, Melissa Guererro went 2-0 in singles to help the Sundevils defeat the Trailblazers.

Liberty 14, Canyon Springs 4 — At Canyon Springs, Parker Burk was 3-0 in singles, and teammates Chessa Chrestensen and Megan Quandt went 3-0 in doubles as the Patriots downed the Pioneers.

Yvette Ibarra and Abigail Emerado each finished 2-1 in singles for Canyon Springs.

The Meadows 15, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, the Mustangs downed the Mountain Lions.

Averiana Mitchell was 2-0 in singles for Sierra Vista.

Moapa Valley 17, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kinzi Robinson and Lindsey Leavitt went 3-0 in doubles to help the Pirates rout the Miners.

Adelson School 12, Western 0 — At Western, the Lions won by forfeit.
