TENNIS: Jeron Bodin, Stefan Sretenovic lead Foothill past Las Vegas in playoff opener

Jeron Bodin and Stefan Sretenovic finished 3-0 in doubles on Wednesday to lead Foothill’s boys tennis team to a 13-5 road win over Las Vegas in the Class 4A Sunrise Region quarterfinals.

The third-seeded Falcons (9-5) will face either Eldorado or Coronado in a region semifinal at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Ben Bowen went 3-0 in singles to pace Las Vegas.

Green Valley 12, Valley 0 — At Green Valley, the Gators (9-2) won their Sunrise Region quarterfinal by forfeit.

Valley (3-8) had just five players after one moved out of state earlier this week.

Green Valley will play either Rancho or Liberty in a region semifinal Saturday.

Legacy 11, Arbor View 7 — At Arbor View, Willie Valdez-Grijalva and Erik Barranca each went 3-0 in singles as the Longhorns downed the Aggies in a Sunset Region play-in match.

Legacy (6-8) will face top-seeded Clark (14-1) in a Sunset Region quarterfinal at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Brenden Wagner and Chad Decker, and Jared Barton and McKade Dudman each finished 2-1 in doubles to lead Arbor View.

Adelson School 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Lions won by forfeit.
