Thursday’s region tennis slate postponed
Rain forced the postponement of all of Thursday's scheduled matches in the Sunrise, Sunset and Division I-A Southern Region tennis tournaments.
It's a double whammy for the Sunset Region, which didn't conclude its second round on Wednesday because of rain.
As a result, all three regions will have quarterfinal matches on Saturday, and players advancing to the semifinals will play twice on Monday.
The entire tournament still will be played at Darling Tennis Center.
The schedule for the rest of the tournament is:
Friday's Matches
3 p.m. — conclusion of two boys singles and three boys doubles Sunset Region second round matches
3 p.m. — Sunset Region girls singles second round matches
3 p.m. — Sunset Region girls doubles second round matches
Saturday's Matches
8 a.m. — Division I-A Southern girls singles and doubles quarterfinals; Division I-A Southern boys singles top half of draw quarterfinals
9:30 a.m. — Division I-A Southern boys singles (bottom half) and doubles quarterfinals; Sunrise Region girls singles quarterfinals; Sunrise Region girls doubles top half of draw quarterfinals
11 a.m. — Sunrise Region girls doubles bottom half of draw quarterfinals; Sunset Region girls singles and doubles quarterfinals; Sunrise Region boys singles quarterfinals
12:30 p.m. — Sunrise Region boys doubles quarterfinals; Sunset Region boys singles and doubles quarterfinals
Monday's Matches
8 a.m. — Division I-A Southern semifinals in all flights
10 a.m. — Sunrise Region semifinals in all flights
Noon — Sunset Region semifinals in all flights
2 p.m. — Division I-A Southern championship/consolation in all flights
4 p.m. — Sunrise Region championship/consolation in all flights
6 p.m. — Sunset Region championship/consolation in all flights
Tuesday's Matches
8 a.m. — Sunrise Region and Sunset Region state play-in matches in all flights
