GIRLS TENNIS: Velarde, Mustangs edge Trailblazers in tiebreaker

Taylor Velarde was 2-0 in singles Tuesday, and Shadow Ridge’s girls tennis team won four of six tiebreaker games to post a 10-9 win over visiting Durango.
Kaylee Green and Angel Ong were 2-1 in doubles for the Mustangs.
Christina Sanders was 3-0 in singles for the Trailblazers.
Virgin Valley 10, Moapa Valley 9 — At Overton, Kaycee Anderson and Sara Anderson each went 3-0 in singles, and the Bulldogs edged the Pirates in a tiebreaker.
After the teams split their 18 regulation sets, each won three of the six tiebreaker games, but Virgin Valley outscored Moapa Valley, 34-30 in the six games to earn the win.
Moapa Valley’s doubles teams of Holly Rust and Kaitlyn Marshall, and Mikenzie Robinson and Hannah Rust both went 3-0.
Valley 10, Rancho 8 — At Rancho, Brooke Harding and Brooke Arita-Zamora each went 3-0 in singles to help the Vikings edge the Rams.
Jenny Deng and Emily Tran finished 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.
Sierra Vista 10, Arbor View 8 — At Sierra Vista, Raquel Claudio and Ana Delgado went 3-0 in doubles as the Mountain Lions nipped the Aggies.
Elen Safarian and Devin Diesko each went 3-0 in singles for Arbor View.
Silverado 11, Canyon Springs 7 — At Canyon Springs, the doubles teams of Alexis Koogler and Samantha Arteaga, and Ari Monturio and Gabby Santiago each went 2-0 to power the Skyhawks past the Pioneers.
Megan Lopez and Criszelle Castro each went 2-1 in singles for Silverado.
Ma’Jhanae Thomas was 3-0 in singles, and Johanna Gummel and Abigail Emperado were 2-1 in doubles for Canyon Springs.
Desert Pines 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Desert Pines, Ashley Palacios and Cecilia Garcia Leon each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Jaguars by the Miners.
Cindy Alvarado and Shelly Alvarado were 3-0 in doubles, and Stephanie Aviles and Jasmine Chamberlain went 2-1 in doubles for Desert Pines.
Basic 13, Del Sol 5 — At Del Sol, Paige Blake was 3-0 in singles to help the Wolves defeat the Dragons.
Kelsey Rechy was 2-1 in singles for Del Sol.
Liberty 15, Foothill 3 — At Foothill, Parker Burk went 3-0 in singles to help the Patriots roll past the Falcons.
Payton Burk and Katerina Singh teamed to go 3-0 in doubles for Liberty.
Coronado 15, Eldorado 3 — At Coronado, Paris Reese and Lauren Coons each went 3-0 in singles as the Cougars topped the Sundevils.
Green Valley 17, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Josie Legarza was 3-0 in singles to help the Gators defeat the Wildcats.
Palo Verde 18, Spring Valley 0 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers swept the Grizzlies.
Boulder City 15, Chaparral 3 — At Boulder City, the Eagles rolled to a victory over the Cowboys.
Faith Lutheran 12, Western 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Crusaders won by forfeit.
Faith Lutheran 10, Bonanza 8 — At Darling Tennis Center, Madison Foley was 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders downed the Bengals in the completion of a match that was suspended by rain on Sept. 11.
Faith Lutheran’s doubles teams of Rachel Taber and Chandler Young, and Michelle Reiss and Jordan Harmonay each went 2-0.
Adrienne Millow was 2-1 in singles, and the doubles teams of Kim Pace and Kayla Sylvester, and Mia Mallette and Shally Matlovic each went 2-1 for Bonanza.
