REGION TENNIS: Waldman helps Bulldogs top Shadow Ridge

Lainey Waldman went 3-0 in singles Wednesday to help host Centennial's girls tennis team to an 11-7 win over Shadow Ridge in a Sunset Region quarterfinal.

The Bulldogs (7-3) will visit Palo Verde (10-0) in a semifinal at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Samantha Milanovich and Kate Dennis were 3-0 in doubles for the Mustangs (4-5).

Bonanza 17, Legacy 1 — At Bonanza, Ashlee McKenna went 3-0 in singles as the Bengals eliminated the Longhorns (2-8).

The doubles teams of Caroline Thuet and Abby Lords, and Brittany Bates and Emmalee Glover finished 3-0 for Bonanza (10-2), which will host Bishop Gorman (9-2) at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Bishop Gorman 16, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Gorman, the doubles teams of Sofia Nuno and Jade Mayweather, and Olivia Maalouf and Uche Nwokike each went 2-0 as the Gaels ousted the Spartans.

Justine Felix went 2-1 in singles for Cimarron (4-5).

SUNRISE REGION

Coronado 15, Valley 3 — At Coronado, Morgan Mastromarino and Lauren Vermeys went 3-0 in doubles as the Cougars routed the Vikings (8-5).

Sophia Burnette and Makenna Curcuru each went 2-0 in singles for Coronado (9-2), which will visit Liberty in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Liberty 11, Rancho 7 — At Liberty, Megan Quandt went 3-0 in singles to lead the Patriots by the Rams (7-8).

Green Valley 14, Las Vegas 4 — At Green Valley, the Gators rolled past the Wildcats (2-7).

Green Valley (11-0) will host Silverado (7-3) in a semifinal at 10 a.m. Thursday.

DIVISION I-A SOUTHERN REGION

Clark 12, Desert Pines 6 — At Desert Pines, Paige Smith went 2-0 in singles as the Chargers topped the Jaguars.

Andrea Busicescu was 2-1 in singles for Clark (9-2), which will visit The Meadows (9-1) in a semifinal at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Cassandra Bueno and Stephanie Aviles went 3-0 in doubles, and Ashley Palacios was 2-1 in singles for Desert Pines (11-3).

The Meadows 17, Virgin Valley 1 — At The Meadows, Ava Frazier and Olivia Waysack were 3-0 in doubles as the Mustangs eliminated the Bulldogs (3-6-1).

Faith Lutheran 15, Tech 3 — At Darling Tennis Center, Jayden Mattson and Michelle Reiss went 2-0 in doubles as the Crusaders swept the nine doubles sets and breezed past the Roadrunners (5-3).

Madison Foley and Paige Erlanger each went 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran (12-2), which will visit Moapa Valley (9-1) in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Moapa Valley 14, Mojave 4 — At Overton, Bodjel Gijzen and Lisa Bruckmann each went 3-0 in singles to help the Pirates roll past the Rattlers (5-4).

Hannah Rust and Lindsey Leavitt went 3-0 in doubles for Moapa Valley.
