ROUNDUP: Dean’s late surge sends Durango girls into Sunset semifinals

Josie Dean rallied to win the final three games of her third set Monday to lift visiting Durango to a 10-8 win at The Meadows in a Sunset Region quarterfinal match.
Durango led 9-8 with Dean’s set against Shannon Chen the last to finish. Chen led 5-4 in the set before Dean rattled off the final three games.
Claire Melo went 3-0 in singles for Durango (9-3), which will face Bishop Gorman in the semifinals Wednesday. The Trailblazers’ doubles team of Jamie Dean and Kaitlyn Moore went 3-0.
Bishop Gorman 15, Arbor View 3 — At Darling Tennis Center, Sarah Toti went 3-0 in singles to help the Gaels roll past Arbor View.
Allie Beckett and Blair Bigelow went 3-0 in doubles matches for Bishop Gorman (13-0).
Arbor View’s Taylor Bland and Ta'Keyrah Reid went 2-1 in doubles.
Palo Verde 16, Clark 2 — At Palo Verde, the doubles team of Shelby Zepeda and Nikki Booth went 3-0 as the Panthers (12-0) beat the Chargers.
Nikki Levy and Krysta Levy went 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde, which hosts Bonanza on Wednesday. Clark’s Natasha James was 2-0 in singles.
Bonanza 11, Faith Lutheran 7 — At Bonanza, Samantha Niemand and Chelsea Chappell went 3-0 in doubles as Bonanza (8-2) past Faith Lutheran.
Olivia Demarta went 2-1 in singles for the Crusaders.
In the Sunrise Region:
Basic 11, Las Vegas 7 — At Las Vegas, Megan Feher and Jenialee Median, and Jenette Stolworthy and Michelle Petty went 3-0 in doubles to help Basic (7-4) down the Wildcats.
Emma Diaz and Courtney Donnelly also went 2-0 in doubles for the Wolves.
Val Shively was 3-0 in singles for Las Vegas.
Green Valley 12, Canyon Springs 6 — At Green Valley, the doubles teams of Daniel Efargan and Kayla Thomas, and Sarah Trigero and Kelsey Barto each went 2-0 to help the Gators (8-3) advance. Jessica Hsu went 2-0 in singles.
Rebecca Breland was 3-0 in singles for the Pioneers.
Silverado 14, Eldorado 4 — At Eldorado, Nicole Santero was 3-0 in singles as Silverado (10-1) beat the Sundevils.
Ashley Newell and Kristen Santero each went 2-0 in singles for the Skyhawks, who will visit Coronado in a semifinal on Wednesday.
Chantelle Martinez was 1-0 in singles for Eldorado.
Coronado 17, Valley 1 — At Coronado, Madison Mathis and Paige Johannessen each went 2-0 in singles to help the Cougars (9-3) rout Valley.
Hillary Johnson and Haylee Johnson went 2-0 in doubles.
