ROUNDUP: McMillan helps The Meadows girls grab Northwest’s top playoff seed
Austin McMillan went 3-0 in singles play Thursday as The Meadows’ girls tennis team captured first place in the Northwest League with a 12-6 win over visiting Palo Verde.
McKay Novak and Anjeli Daulat were 3-0 in doubles for The Meadows (10-0, 9-0 Northwest).
Palo Verde finished 8-1 in Northwest play.
Centennial 10, Faith Lutheran 8 — At Centennial, the doubles teams of Alyza Mijares and Nikki Moore, and Jessica Tonks and Jade Navato both went 3-0 as the Bulldogs edged the Crusaders.
Olivia Demarta and Renee Vogel each finished 3-0 in singles play for Faith Lutheran.
Shadow Ridge 13, Cheyenne 5 — At Cheyenne, Shadow Ridge’s Desiree Hogue was 2-1 in singles as the Mustangs defeated the Desert Shields.
Kelly Miki went 3-0 in singles for the Desert Shields.
Legacy 10, Cimarron-Memorial 8 — At Cimarron, Unique Hawkins, Jami Oltmanns and Danyelle Lizzio all went 3-0 in singles to lead the Longhorns past the Spartans.
Stephanie Kaplan and Solena Mednicoff were 3-0 in doubles for Cimarron.
Durango 11, Spring Valley 7 — At Spring Valley, Durango swept the nine doubles sets and downed the Grizzlies.
Durango’s doubles teams of Claire Melo and Andrea Melo, Katie Moore and Josie Dean, and Hannah Sulzer and Chanel Hinds all went 3-0.
Tiffany Tavares was 3-0 in singles, and teammate Sierra Weyer finished 2-1 in singles for Spring Valley.
Desert Oasis 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Desert Oasis, the Diamondbacks’ doubles teams of Corrisa Gardley and Jessica Albero, and Vannesa Stephans and Francheska Roman both went 3-0 to lead Desert Oasis past the Mountain Lions.
Lesley Chan was 3-0 in singles for Sierra Vista.
Bonanza 12, Virgin Valley 6 — At Mesquite, the Bengals topped the Bulldogs.
Lark Dobenbier and Charlotte Brooks were 3-0 in doubles for Virgin Valley.
Arbor View 12, Mojave 6 — At Arbor View, the Aggies topped the Rattlers.
Foothill 12, Eldorado 6 — At Foothill, the Falcons downed the Sundevils.
Bishop Gorman 12, Western 0 — At Gorman, the Gaels won by forfeit.
