Roundup: Sierra Vista sneaks by Silverado

Ariana Stanciu finished 2-0 in singles to propel Sierra Vista’s girls tennis team to an 11-7 road victory over Silverado on Friday afternoon.

Sierra Vista’s Taylore Edwards and Jessica Schneider finished 2-0 also in doubles.

Silverado’s Vanessa Booth and Catherine Snow finished 3-0 in doubles, and Raejean Retumban and Kathryn Carder finished 2-0.

Faith Lutheran 4, Stockdale (Calif.) 2 — At Clovis, California, Kennadee Semenik and Arianna Van Houweling each won in straight sets in singles to lead the Crusaders by the Mustangs in the California Tennis Classic.

The doubles team of Eleni Ciulla and Elyse Dulaine won in three sets for Faith Lutheran.

Clark 13, Durango 5 — At Durango, Mia Lorenzo and Angielena Luong went 2-0 in doubles to help the Chargers defeat the Trailblazers.

Emily Follmer and Ellen Lee also went 2-0 in doubles for Clark.

Breanna Bui went 2-1 in singles for Durango.

Virgin Valley 11, Legacy 7 — At Mesquite, Emma Wilson went 2-1 in singles to help the Bulldogs defeat the Longhorns.

Italia Jones was 3-0 in singles for Legacy.

Desert Oasis 14, Basic 4 — At Basic, Karina Damian and Ziumary Romero went 3-0 in doubles to help the Diamondbacks defeat the Wolves.

Natalia Damian went 3-0 in singles for Desert Oasis.

Arroyo Grande (Calif.) 5, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Clovis, California, the Eagles downed the Crusaders in the opening match of the California Tennis Classic.

The doubles team of Jade Mayweather and Hannah Lundgaard collected Faith Lutheran’s win.

Palo Verde 11, Bonanza 7 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers defeated the Bengals.

Arbor View 12, Western 0 — At Arbor View, the Aggies defeated the Warriors via forfeit.

Shadow Ridge 12, Canyon Springs 0. At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs defeated the Pioneers by forfeit.

Faith Lutheran 6, Leland (Calif.) 0 — At Clovis, California, the Crusaders won by forfeit in the California Tennis Classic.
