TENNIS: Clark girls edge Bonanza

Paige Smith and Andrea Busicescu each went 2-0 in singles Wednesday to help Clark's girls tennis team to a 10-8 win at Bonanza.

The doubles team of Shalini Jawaweera and Esther Yi also went 2-0 for the Chargers.

Maris Nelson was 2-0 in singles for the Bengals.

Spring Valley 11, Cheyenne 7 — At Cheyenne, Shawna Kesgamol and Sydney Pravato each went 2-1 in singles to lead the Grizzlies past the Desert Shields.

Gabi Denton went 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Cierra McFarland and Tiffany Tolliver went 3-0 for Cheyenne.

Basic 12, Eldorado 6 — At Basic, the doubles team of Crystal Klein and Britney Green went 3-0 to lead the Wolves by the Sundevils.

Melanie Calderon-Lemus and Robin Lim were 2-0 in doubles for Basic.

Cheyenne Delicate was 3-0 in singles, and Kristie Thomas was 2-1 in singles for Eldorado.

Bishop Gorman 13, Liberty 5 — At Gorman, Amber Del Rosario and Olivia Maalouf were 3-0 in doubles to lead the Gaels by the Patriots.

Emma Figueredo was 2-1 in singles for Gorman.

Parker Burk went 3-0 in singles for Liberty.

Green Valley 14, Foothill 4 — At Green Valley, Racquel Holder and Megan Madrid each went 3-0 in singles as the Gators beat the Falcons.

Daria Shalina and Olivia Nhaisi went 3-0 in doubles for Green Valley.

Shadow Ridge 15, Durango 3 — At Durango, the Mustangs rolled by the Trailblazers.

Anne Jiang went 3-0 in singles for Durango.

The Meadows 16, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Abbigail Klein, Anuja Daulat and Grace Nemec each went 2-0 in singles as the Mustangs routed the Rattlers.

Shalini Shah and Samantha Gondy went 2-0 in doubles for The Meadows.

Faith Lutheran 18, Western 0 — At Western, the doubles teams of Samantha Schuetze and Jessica Gettinger, and Kelsie Seigle and Sophia Longi each went 2-0 as the Crusaders blanked the Warriors.

Jade Lee was 1-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Coronado 14, Rancho 4 — At Rancho, Hannah Grossman went 2-0 in singles as the Cougars defeated the Rams.

Palo Verde 17, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, the Panthers rolled by the Longhorns.

Sierra Vista 12, Adelson School 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Mountain Lions won by forfeit.

BOYS

Shadow Ridge 10, Durango 8 — At Durango, Loren McHargue went 3-0 in singles to lead the Mustangs past the Trailblazers.

Green Valley 10, Foothill 9 — At Green Valley, Mackay Boman went 3-0 in singles as the Gators nipped the Falcons in a tiebreaker.

After the teams split the 18 regulation sets, Green Valley won four of the six tiebreaker games to secure the win.

Basic 11, Eldorado 7 — At Basic, the doubles teams of Thomas Romero and Brennan Earl, and Nick Stellavato and Gavin Mangan each went 3-0 to power the Wolves by the Sundevils.

Eldorado's Trevor Swain was 3-0 in singles.

Clark 13, Bonanza 5 — At Bonanza, Trevor Pearl and Simran Shah each went 2-0 in singles to lift the Chargers by the Bengals.

Derek Stratton and Christian Ong were 2-0 in doubles for Clark.

Palo Verde 16, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Davis Waid and Aiden Swainston each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers topped the Longhorns.

Bishop Gorman 17, Liberty 1 — At Gorman, Aaron Bailey and Sam Sholeff each went 3-0 in singles as the Gaels routed the Patriots.

Lucas Hammond and Cole Davidson went 2-0 in doubles for Gorman.

The Meadows 17, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Alex Lanskowsky and Nathan Van der Post each went 2-0 in singles as the Mustangs cruised past the Rattlers.

Eddie Rastgoo and Joseph Coronel went 2-0 in doubles for The Meadows.

Adelson School 12, Sierra Vista 6 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Lions downed the Mountain Lions.

Ryan McCoy went 3-0 in singles for Sierra Vista.

Coronado 16, Rancho 2 — At Rancho, Sam Grant and Ryland McDermott were 2-0 in singles as the Cougars rolled past the Rams.

Faith Lutheran 12, Western 0 — At Western, the Crusaders won by forfeit.
