TENNIS: Palo Verde girls top Gorman for Southwest title

Chloe Henderson was 3-0 in singles Tuesday to help Palo Verde's girls tennis team win the Southwest League title with a 13-4 victory over visiting Bishop Gorman in a match that was called due to darkness.
The Panthers' doubles teams of Isabella Shelton and Sophie Henderson, and Shelby Graber and Kaya Richardson both finished 3-0.
Amber Del Rosario went 2-1 in singles for Gorman.
Legacy 13, Durango 5 — At Legacy, Ananya Chauhan and Loren Jensen went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Longhorns by the Trailblazers.
Anne Jiang was 3-0 in singles for Durango.
Faith Lutheran 12, Clark 6 — At Darling Tennis Center, Michelle Reiss and Jayden Mattson went 2-0 in doubles to help the Crusaders down the Chargers.
Paige Erlanger was 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran.
Paige Smith went 3-0 in singles for Clark.
Virgin Valley 12, Boulder City 6 — At Mesquite, Clarine Zeelenberg and Madison Fielding finished 3-0 in doubles to guide the Bulldogs by the Eagles.
Rancho 12, Eldorado 6 — At Eldorado, Destiny Trujeque and Maiyah Norton were 3-0 in doubles to help the Rams top the Sundevils.
Cheyenne Delicate was 3-0 in singles for Eldorado.
Green Valley 15, Basic 3 — At Basic, Racquel Holder finished 3-0 in singles as the Gators routed the Wolves.
Daria Shalina and Ksantia Iliopulos went 3-0 in doubles for Green Valley.
Coronado 15, Foothill 3 — At Coronado, Camille Solla went 3-0 in singles to lead the Cougars past the Falcons.
Jessica Duff and Samantha Ross went 3-0 in doubles for Coronado.
Sunrise Mountain 12, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, the Miners topped the Dragons.
Alina Marruffo went 3-0 in singles for Del Sol.
Moapa Valley 15, Chaparral 3 — At Chaparral, the Pirates topped the Cowboys.
BOYS
Boulder City 10, Virgin Valley 9 — At Mesquite, Karson Bailey and Andre Pappas went 3-0 in doubles as the Eagles nipped the Bulldogs in a tiebreaker.
Boulder City won four of six tiebreaker games after the teams split their regulation sets.
Simon Kahlert was 3-0 in singles to pace Virgin Valley.
Legacy 11, Durango 7 — At Legacy, the doubles teams of Guillermo Valdez-Grijalva and Austin Michals, and Diego Portillo and Devin Garrett each went 3-0 as the Longhorns downed the Trailblazers.
Nikola Zelenovic was 3-0 in singles, and Marc Viernes went 2-0 in singles for Durango.
Rancho 11, Eldorado 7 — At Eldorado, Treasure Nyame was 2-1 in singles to lead the Rams by the Sundevils.
Trevor Swain was 3-0 in singles, and Travis Bowe and Jordan Eldred went 3-0 in doubles for Rancho.
Green Valley 10, Basic 8 — At Basic, Brandon Farber was 2-0 in singles as the Gators edged the Wolves.
Clark 12, Faith Lutheran 6 — At Darling Tennis Center, Michael Pasimio was 3-0 in singles, and Marcus Pasimio and Christian Ong went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Chargers by the Crusaders.
Derek Stratton and Justin Ong were 2-0 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.
Maxwell Blum went 2-1 in singles, and Brandon Brighi and Matt Shuirman were 2-1 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.

Del Sol 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Del Sol, the Dragons won by forfeit.
Bishop Gorman vs. Palo Verde — At Palo Verde, the Gaels and Panthers halted their match due to darkness with the teams tied 9-9. They are scheduled to play the tiebreaker round Wednesday.
