TENNIS: Singles sweep propels Gator girls by Coronado

Green Valley's girls tennis team swept the nine singles sets Thursday en route to a 12-6 win at Coronado.

Racquel Holder, Daria Shalina and Megan Madrid each went 3-0 in singles for the Gators.

Foothill 10, Eldorado 8 — At Eldorado, the doubles teams of Morgan Hawkins and Laini George, and Caitlyn Stevenson and Abby Wilson each went 3-0 to lead the Falcons past the Sundevils.

Cheyenne Delicate went 3-0 in singles for Eldorado.

Rancho 10, Basic 8 — At Basic, Maiyah Norton went 3-0 in singles as the Rams downed the Wolves.

Britney Green and Crystal Klein went 3-0 in doubles for Basic.

Mojave 10, Spring Valley 8 — At Spring Valley, Eva Sampson went 3-0 in singles to lead the Rattlers past the Grizzlies.

Spring Valley's Guadalupe Gomez-Navarro and Jazmine Abundis went 3-0 in doubles.

The Meadows 13, Faith Lutheran 5 — At The Meadows, Anuja Daulat was 3-0 in singles to help the Mustangs down the Crusaders.

The doubles teams of Samantha Gondy and Shalini Shah, and Olivia Waysack and Ava Frazier both went 3-0 for The Meadows.

Madison Foley was 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Palo Verde 15, Shadow Ridge 3 — At Palo Verde, Kristen Newell and Alissa Till each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers routed the Mustangs.

Cheyenne 12, Western 6 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields topped the Warriors.

Bishop Gorman 17, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, the Gaels routed the Longhorns.

Sierra Vista 12, Durango 0 — At Durango, the Mountain Lions won by forfeit.

Clark 12, Adelson School 0 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Chargers won by forfeit.

BOYS

Durango 10, Sierra Vista 8 — At Durango, Marc Viernes was 3-0 in singles, and Filip Bosnajak and Jovan Lubara finished 3-0 in doubles as the Traiblazers nipped the Mountain Lions.

Green Valley 10, Coronado 8 — At Coronado, Mackay Boman went 3-0 in singles to help the Gators edge the Cougars.

John John was 2-1 in singles, and the doubles teams of Brandon Farber and Ryan Elezera, and Gabriel Malouf and Ben Lieberman each went 2-1 for Green Valley.

The Meadows 11, Faith Lutheran 7 — At The Meadows, Alex Lanzkowsky went 3-0 in singles to lead the Mustangs by the Crusaders.

Brandon Brighi and Matt Shuirman were 3-0 in doubles, and Maxwell Blum went 2-1 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Spring Valley 13, Mojave 5 — At Spring Valley, Chris Zimmerman and Dando Fitamo each went 3-0 in singles as the Grizzlies downed the Rattlers.

Jaxson Otis and Vangeli Zimmerman finished 3-0 in doubles for Spring Valley.

Basic 14, Rancho 4 — At Basic, Garrison Stinnet went 3-0 in singles as the Wolves rolled past the Rams.

Nick Stellavato and Gavin Mangan went 3-0 in doubles for Basic.

Palo Verde 15, Shadow Ridge 3 — At Palo Verde, Ethan Ballard was 2-0 in singles to lead the Panthers by the Mustangs.

Mitchell Rathburn and Davis Waid finished 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

Bishop Gorman 17, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Daniel Kinas and Mark Ward each went 2-0 in singles as the Gaels downed the Longhorns.

Foothill 17, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, the doubles teams of Teodor Drabicki and Ben Gonzalez, and Jack Fredricksen and Jeron Bodin each went 3-0 as the Falcons rolled to an easy win over the Sundevils.

Clark 16, Adelson School 2 — At Darling Tennis Center, the Chargers topped the Lions.

Cheyenne vs. Western — At Cheyenne, the match ended in a double forfeit as neither school had the requisite six players.
