Aggie boys, girls sweep Arbor View Invitational

Zanae Jones won two individual events in the girls meet, and Ivy Dobson, Cole Jones and D.J. Williams each won two events in the boys meet as Arbor View’s track teams both took first place Friday in the Arbor View Invitational.

Zanae Jones finished first in the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 27.51 seconds and the 3,200 in 11:47.5 as the Aggie girls breezed to the title.

Arbor View won the 22-team girls meet with 185 points. Faith Lutheran was second with 117. Shadow Ridge took third with 57.33.

Faith Lutheran’s Clarissa Maxey won three events, taking the 100 in 12.67, the 200 in 25.9 and the 400 in 1:00.62.

The Meadows’ Delaney Gosse won the 800 in 2:27.31 and finished first in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 2 inches.

In the boys meet, the Aggies had 137½ points to lead the field of 19 teams. Las Vegas was second with 80, followed by Faith Lutheran (74), Shadow Ridge (60) and Desert Oasis (54).

Dobson breezed to the title in the 100 (10.89) and 200 (21.58).

Cole Jones won the 1,600 in 4:31.42 and the 3,200 in 9:44.76.

Williams swept the hurdles winning the 110 in 14.81 and the 300 in 39.95.

Faith Lutheran’s Mark Rubalcaba won the long jump with a distance of 22-8½ and the triple jump with an effort of 45-1.
