Boys roundup: Coronado’s Keaton Daniel clears 15-4 in pole vault

Coronado’s Keaton Daniel cleared 15 feet, 4 inches to win the pole vault on Wednesday in the Cougars’ three-team home meet.

Coronado and Liberty both finished with 84½ points. Spring Mountain was third with 17.

Coronado’s Reese Kimball won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.05 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 41.72.

Timothy Conway won the 800 (2:07.54) and ran on the winning 1,600 relay team for the Cougars.

Liberty’s Corey Moore swept the throws, taking the shot put with a toss of 49 feet, 3 inches, and winning the discus with a mark of 172-1.

Tyeese Blackman won the 200 (22.76) and was on the winning 400 and 800 relay teams for the Patriots.

Arbor View wins tri-meet

At Arbor View, Dyllion Smith won three events to propel the Aggies to a win over Cimarron-Memorial and The Meadows.

Smith swept the hurdles, winning the 110 in 17.4 and the 300 in 45.2, and took the triple jump with a mark of 37-9¼.

The Aggies’ Chance Bourke won the high jump (5-10) and was second in the triple jump.

Arbor View fininshed with 179½ points. Cimarron was second with 31½ and The Meadows third with 24.

The Meadows’ Shahzaib Akbar won the shot put (39-10) and was second in the discus.
