BOYS TRACK: Acosta, Jones lead Chaparral boys to win

Casey Acosta and Mark Jones each won two events Tuesday to help Chaparral’s boys track team to a 101-50 win over Virgin Valley at Pahrump.
Acosta won the 100-meter dash in 11.5 seconds and took the 200 in 23.3.
Jones swept the throws, taking the discus with an effort of 115 feet, 9 inches and the shot put with a mark of 41-8.
The Bulldogs’ Rich Martinez won three events. Martinez was first in the 110 hurdles (16.26), the 300 hurdles (44.1) and the triple jump (38-4½).
Trojans defeat Chargers
At Pahrump, Nick Nelson, Devon Montgomery and Isaac Davis each won twice to help the Trojans to a 96-50 victory over Clark.
Nelson won the 800 in 2:12 and the 1,600 in 5:05. Montgomery claimed the 110 hurdles in 15.2 and the discus with a throw of 113-3½. Davis captured the high jump, clearing 5-6, and the triple jump with a mark of 39-2½.
Wildcats down Rancho
At Las Vegas, Myles Fusilier won two events to help the Wildcats to a 97-49 win over Rancho.
Fusilier cleared 5-10 to win the high jump and had a distance of 18-9 to take the long jump.
The Rams’ Isaiah Culverson swept the hurdles, winning the 110 in 15.2 and the 300 in 45.2.
Aggies rout Sierra Vista
At Sierra Vista, Dakota Jennings swept the throws to help Arbor View to a 125-20 win over the Mountain Lions.
Jennings had a distance of 126-3 in the discus and 40-6½ in the shot put.
Tu’ufuli, George lead Patriots
At Basic, Reno Tu’ufuli and Jonathan George each won two events as Liberty beat the Wolves, 87-59.
Tu’ufuli dominated the throwing events, taking the discus with a mark of 175-1, and tossing the shot put 52-4.
George won the 1,600 (4:55.3) and 3,200 (10:45.9).
Basic’s Elijah Sharif won the 100 (11.5), 200 (22.6) and long jump (21-0½).
