BOYS TRACK: Amon leads Chargers to victory in four-team meet

Mucuranyana Amon won the 3,200-meter run on Wednesday to help Clark’s boys track team to a win in a four-team meet in Overton.

Amon finished in 10 minutes, 15.89 seconds. He also placed second in the 1,600 and ran on the winning 3,200 relay for the Chargers, who won with 81½ points.

Faith Lutheran (77½) was second, followed by Virgin Valley (59) and Moapa Valley (54).

Moapa Valley’s R.J. Hubert won three events. He was first in the 110 hurdles (15.6), 300 hurdles (41.53) and high jump (6 feet, 1 inch).

Faith Lutheran’s Mark Rubalcaba and Austin Hunt each won two events. Rubalcaba was first in the 100 (11.19) and 200 (22.05), and Hunt took the 800 (2:15.23) and 1,600 (4:41.38).

Virgin Valley’s Micah Saunders placed first in the long jump (19-7¾) and triple jump (39-1).

Vikings top Rams

At Valley, Dawi Tesfa and Donte Mitchell each won twice to lead the Vikings to a 95-42 win over Rancho.

Tesfa was first in the 800 (2:10.1) and 1,600 (4:54.9). Mitchell won the long jump (20-2) and triple jump (38-10½).

Rancho’s Isaiah Culverson won the 110 hurdles (15.3) and 300 hurdles (40.8).

Patriots overwhelm Sundevils

At Eldorado, Reno Tu’ufuli swept the throwing events to help Liberty to a 104½-41½ victory over the Sundevils.

Tu’ufuli won the shot put (54-6) and took the discus in 164-0, which was more than 30 feet off his nation-leading mark in the event.

Eldorado’s Eddie Esquivel won the 3,200 (10:30.4) and was second to Liberty’s Martin Ponce in the 1,600.

Wildcats win tri-meet

At Las Vegas, Elias Miller won two events as the Wildcats scored 99½ points to win a three-team meet.

Miller won the 100 in 11.0 and also was first in the 200 in 22.30.

Alexander Hicks was first in three events, and Kyle Parker won two events for Green Valley, which was second with 77½ points. The Meadows finished third with six points.

Wolves top Falcons

At Basic, Dallon Ellett won the 100 (11.8) and 200 (23.5) to lead the Wolves to a 93-53 win over Foothill.

Dylan Weasa won the shot put (48-4) and discus (136-7) for the Falcons.

Hicks was first in the long jump (20-4) and triple jump (42-0) and tied for first in the high jump with Myles Fusilier of Las Vegas at 5-10. Parker took the 110 hurdles (16.0) and the 300 hurdles (41.5).

Boulder City wins quad meet

At Mojave, Jacorey Dixon was first in the 110 hurdles (16.1) and 300 hurdles (42.8) to lead Boulder City to victory in a four-team meet with 98 points.

Desert Pines (83) was second, followed by Mojave (45) and Western (37).

Desert Pines’ Abdirahman Mohamad won the 800 (2:07.5), 1,600 (4:46.2) and 3,200 (10:36.7).

Western’s Kenric Davis was first in the 100 (10.9) and 200 (21.6).
