BOYS TRACK: Anthony Pace, Pierson Mook lead Gorman to victory

Anthony Pace and Pierson Mook each won two individual events and ran on a winning relay to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys track team to victory in a three-team meet at Faith Lutheran on Wednesday.
Pace won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 14.42 seconds, and took the 1,600 in 5:02.51. He also ran on the winning 3,200 relay team.
Mook won the 110 hurdles (15.95) and 300 hurdles (41.58) and ran on the winning 800 relay team for the Gaels, who finished with 96 points. Faith Lutheran had 75, and The Meadows had four points.
Nikolas Bracken won the 100 (11.34), was second in the long jump and ran on the winning 800 relay team for Gorman.
Faith Lutheran’s Austin Hunter won the long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 7¾ inches. Hunter also finished second in the 100 for the Crusaders.
McCarter, Bengals top Chargers
At Bonanza, R.J. McCarter won four events to lead the Bengals to a 99-47 home win over Clark.
McCarter won the 110 hurdles (15.6), 300 hurdles (42.6), high jump (6-2) and long jump (19-3).
Joey Fox added wins in the 100 (11.0), 200 (22.7) and 400 (55.7) for Bonanza. Gregory Hoyes won the shot put (36-8) and discus (106-5) for the Bengals.
Virgin Valley claims three-team meet
At Mesquite, Virgin Valley dominated the throws on the way to victory in a three-team meet.
Jaden Dalton won the shot put (44-9¼) and was second in the discus, and teammate Reid Jensen won the discus (104-7) and was second in the shot put for the Bulldogs, who finished with 122½ points. Chaparral was second with 77½, and Western had 53.
Jordy Saldana won the 1,600 (5:28.3) and was second in the 800 for Virgin Valley.
Western’s Kwan Carter won the 200 (22.5), long jump (19-9) and triple jump (42-2¼).
