BOYS TRACK: Falcons win three-team meet at Valley

Jeron Bodin and Justin Meeks each won an individual event and finished second in another to help Foothill’s boys track win a three-team meet at Valley on Tuesday.

Bodin won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 44 seconds, with Meeks crossing the line second. Meeks was first in the 110 hurdles (17.03), just ahead of Bodin (17.37).

Cameron Carroll won the shot put (43 feet), and Brandon Hargis was first in the discus (108-5) for the Falcons, who scored 82 points. Valley was second with 61 points, followed by Eldorado with 29.

Abel Tesfa swept the distance events for Valley, as he finished first in the 800 (2:12.08), 1,600 (4:50.94) and 3,200 (11:17.77).

Eldorado’s Carl Crayon won the long jump (21-1) and triple jump (42-11) to go along with a second-place finish in the high jump and a third-place effort in the 100.

Aggies win three-team meet

At Bonanza, Elijah Clark and Joey Rowberry each won two individual events to help Arbor View win a three-team meet.

Clark won the 100 in 10.9 and the 200 in 22.2, and Rowberry took the pole vault (10-6) and triple jump (38-10½).

The Aggies had 116.67 points. Bonanza took second with 67.33, and Calvary Chapel had 2 points.

Bonanza’s R.J. McCarter won the 300 hurdles (43.9) and long jump (20-1) and finished in a three-way tie for first in the high jump (5-8).

Gators defeat Wolves

At Basic, Salvatore Hicks swept the throws as Green Valley defeated the Wolves, 87.33-44.67.

Hicks won the shot put (46-6) and was first in the discus (131-5) for Green Valley.

Van Barrel won the 100 hurdles (15.63) and the 300 hurdles (42.2) for Basic.

Basic’s Frank Harris cleared 6-11 to win the high jump.

Moux, Rattlers win quad meet

At Mojave, Christopher Moux won the long jump (19-0) and triple jump (42-1) to lead the Rattlers to victory in a four-team meet.

Mojave had 106 points, followed by Pahrump Valley (63), Sunrise Mountain (58) and Cheyenne (31).

Sunrise Mountain’s Musio Jimenez-Vasquez won the 1,600 (4:51.0) and 3,200 (10:10.2).

Cheyenne’s Zavieh Harrell took the 100 (11.0) and 200 (22.8).

Pioneers top Rancho

At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers defeated Rancho, 86-57.

Rancho’s William Jenkins won teh shot put (40-1¼) and discus (126-4).
