BOYS TRACK: Johnson wins two events to help Mustangs down Trailblazers

Melvin Johnson won two events Tuesday to help host Shadow Ridge’s boys track team defeat visiting Durango, 89-47.

Johnson won the 100-meter dash in 10.9 seconds and the 200 in 22.5.

The Mustangs’ Jose Carrillo won the discus with an effort of 109 feet, 7 inches and was second in the shot put.

Durango’s Elijah Colbert won the shot put (41-1) and was second in the discus.

Aggies win three-team meet

At Desert Oasis, Elijah Clark finished second in both the 100 and 200 to help Arbor View win a three-team meet.

The Aggies had 92 points. Desert Oasis was second with 75, and Quest Academy had 5.

Desert Oasis’ Nick Benham won the shot put (41-1) and discus (129-1).
