BOYS TRACK: Leonard leads Faith Lutheran to victory in four-team meet

Dalton Leonard won three individual events Wednesday to help host Faith Lutheran’s boys track team to victory in a four-team meet.

Leonard won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.81 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 43.02 and the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 10¼ inches.

Faith Lutheran had 142.67 points. Boulder City had 59.33. Clark was third with 50, followed by Chaparral with 12.

Boulder City’s Sam Gomez swept the throws, winning the discus with a mark of 166-2 and the shot put with an effort of 52-5¼.

Clark’s Liam Jones won the 1,600 in 4:59 and the 3,200 in 10:40.1.

Panthers defeat Gorman

At Bishop Gorman, Daniel Ziems swept the distance events to help Palo Verde to a 91-51 win over the Gaels.

Ziems won the 1,600 in 4:45, and the 3,200 in 10:21.32.

Gorman’s Nikolas Bracken won the triple jump with an effort of 37-9 and the 100 in 10.87, and teammate Haskell Garrett won the shot put with an effort of 47-10 and the discus with a throw of 145-3.
