BOYS TRACK: Moapa Valley takes four-team meet at Spring Valley

Sam Bond, Nathaniel Brill and Caleb Witsken each won two individual events Tuesday to help Moapa Valley’s boys track team win a four-team meet at Spring Valley.

The Pirates had 126 points. The Meadows was second with 60, followed by Spring Valley with 41 and Laughlin with 21.

Bond swept the hurdle events, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 18.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 35.3.

Brill won the 800 in 2:11 and the 3,200 in 11:43.

Witsken cleared 15 feet, 6¼ inches to take the pole vault and won the long jump with an effort of 18-1.

Spring Valley’s Khalfani Shaw won the 100 (10.9) and 200 (23.1).

Aggies win four-team meet

At Arbor View, Aaron Price won the high jump (5-8) and tied for first in the 110 hurdles (15.8) to help the Aggies win a four-team meet.

Arbor View had 174.17 points. Bonanza was second with 62.83, followed by Quest Academy with 20 and Spring Mountain with 15.

Bonanza’s Brandon Knox tied Price in the 110 hurdles and won the 300 hurdles (42.4).

Quest’s Devante Loggins took the 100 (10.9) and 200 (22.9).

Smith, Bulldogs roll past Diamondbacks

At Centennial, Derrick Smith won the 300 hurdles (46.0) and ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams to help the Bulldogs to a 108-34 win over Desert Oasis.

Savon Scarver won the 110 hurdles (16.2), was second in the high jump and ran on the winning 800 relay team for Centennial.

Desert Oasis’ Seth Scoville won the triple jump (40-7½) and long jump (19-7).

Gorman boys win three-team meet

At Durango, Nikolas Bracken and Ethan Palelei each won two individual events to help the Gaels win a three-team meet.

Gorman had 107 points. Durango was second with 66, followed by Calvary Chapel with 13.

Bracken won long jump (18-4) and triple jump (37-7), and Palelei won the shot put (40-6) and discus (135-10).

Durango’s Leondre Austin won the 100 (11.1) and 200 (22.5).
