BOYS TRACK: Williams sweeps throws as Gators win three-team meet

Brady Williams won two individual events Wednesday to help Green Valley’s boys track team win a three-team meet at Silverado.
The Gators finished with 93½ points, well ahead of second-place Silverado (46). Desert Oasis was third with 43½ points.
Williams was first in the shot put at 49 feet, 8 inches and also won the discus with a mark of 165-9.
Silverado’s Cody Hudson won the 110 hurdles in 15.82 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 40.63.
Rams top Foothill
At Foothill, Roger Ward won the 110 hurdles in 17.07 and finished second in the high jump to help Rancho to a 92-47 win over the Falcons.
Foothill’s Kevin Woodland won the 100 in 11.37 and the long jump with an effort of 21-4.
Centennial rolls to victory
At Palo Verde, Demarcus Joseph, Dajour Braxton, Keith Turner, Anyah Nutter and Dante Roberts each won two individual events to help Centennial capture a three-team meet.
The Bulldogs had 130.17 points. Palo Verde was second with 23.83, followed by Spring Mountain with 2.
Joseph won the 100 (10.6) and 200 (22.4). Turner took the 400 (49.0) and 800 (2:00.7). Braxton claimed the 1,600 (4:32.6) and 3,200 (9:35.7).
Nutter was first in the 110 hurdles (14.7) and high jump (6-4). Roberts tied for first in the shot put (43-7½) and won the discus (149-7).
