Ian Jackson helps Aggie boys win Arbor View Invitational

Ian Jackson won one individual event, was second in another and ran on a winning relay team Friday to help host Arbor View’s boys track team win the Arbor View Invitational.

Jackson won the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 35.61 seconds. His winning time was more than 12 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Jackson was second in the 3,200 run where his time of 10:19.22 was just 0.12 seconds slower than teammate Keith Williams.

Jackson also joined Williams, Noah Ayala and Cameron Barnes on the Aggies’ winning 3,200 relay team (8:27.84).

Canyon Springs’ Keyon White swept the hurdles, winning the 110s in 16.85 and the 300s in 42.03.

Arbor View ran away with the team title, scoring 168 points to lead a 13-team field. Canyon Springs was second with 106, followed by Palo Verde with 88 and Moapa Valley with 63.

In the girls meet, Arbor View won only three events, but used its depth to capture the team championship.

The Aggies’ Ashia Martinez won the 200 in 26.38, and teammate Madison Eckert was first in the 300 hurdles in 49.7. Eckert and Martinez also teamed with Eviana Leggette and Emoni Clark to win the 800 relay in 1:47.09.

Boulder City’s Sierra Selinger swept the distance events, winning the 1,600 in 5:45.15 and the 3,200 in 12:50.54.

Moapa Valley’s Ashlyn Western won the 800 in 2:36.72 and was second to Selinger in the 1,600.

Arbor View finished with 116 points to lead the 14-team field. Moapa Valley was second with 107, followed by White Pine with 86 and Palo Verde with 63.
