ROUNDUP: Carter helps Silverado boys cruise past Basic, Spring Mountain

Dante Carter won two events Wednesday to help Silverado’s boys track team (101 points) to a home victory over Basic (78) and Spring Mountain (4).
Carter took the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 53.1 seconds and the 3,200 in 10:24.4.
Jared Darnell won the 110 hurdles (16.2) and 300 hurdles (42.6) for Basic, and Wolves teammate Jake Reckinger took the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches, and the triple jump at 38-7¼.

Trio leads Palo Verde to tri-meet win
At Palo Verde, Najhee Matlock, Tyrone Blake and Daniel Godkin each won two events to help the Panthers (103) cruise past Cheyenne (42) and Cimarron-Memorial (36).

Matlock finished first in the 100 (11.1) and 200 (23.0), Blake won the 110 hurdles (16.6) and triple jump (41-4), and Godkin claimed top prize in the shot put (46-8) and discus (128-0).

Stearns, Anderson help Pahrump Valley jump to win
At Pahrump, Nick Stearns and Alex Anderson each won two individual events to help the Trojans score 104½ points and win a three-team meet. Sierra Vista finished second wtih 81½ points, and Indian Springs was third.

Stearns took the pole vault with a mark of 11-0 and the 110 hurdles in 16.7. Anderson won the high jump (5-11) and long jump (19-1).
Sierra Vista’s Eddie Meneses won the 1,600 in 5:09.7 and the 3,200 in 11:13.1.
 
Pioneers turn back Chaparral, Desert Pines
At Chaparral, Canyon Springs won three of four relays to win the meet with 74 points.
 
Chaparral was second with 64, and Desert Pines finished third with 38.
GIRLS
Bond helps Skyhawks beat Wolves
At Silverado, Diamond Bond won two events to lead the Skyhawks to a 90-56 victory over Basic.
Bond took the 200 (28.7) and long jump (14-10).

Relay sweep leads Panthers to win
At Palo Verde, the Panthers swept the relays to finish first with 98½ points, topping Cheyenne (62½) and Cimarron-Memorial (16).

Jennifer Gray won the 200 (27.3) and 400 (1:00.0) for Cheyenne, and teammate Brittany Jackson won the shot put (36-2) and discus (115-6).

Trojans easily win three-team meet
At Pahrump, Megan Hamrick swept the throwing events to lead the Trojans to victory in a three-team meet.

Pahrump had a team score of 127. Sierra Vista (48) was second and Indian Springs (2) third.
Hamrick took the shot put  with a mark of 33-6, and discus with a throw of 93-8.
 
Canyon Sprigns tops Chaparral, Desert Pines
At Chaparral, Savonni Simms, Sonia McAdory and Destanae Howerton-Davis each won two events to lead Canyon Springs to a first-place finish with 94 points.
 
Chaparral had 46 and Desert Pines 19.
 
Simms won the 100 hurdles (17.5) and 300 hurdles (51.6), McAdory won the long jump (14-0) and triple jump (30-1), and Howerton-Davis was first in the shot put (40-3½) and discus (123-10).
