ROUNDUP: Centennial boys snare six wins for victory at four-team meet
Centennial’s boys track and field team won six events to edge second-place Arbor View, 72-70 in a four-team meet Thursday at Cheyenne.
Arbor View’s Vaughn Davis won the 200-meter dash in 22.9 seconds and the 400 in 53.1 seconds.
Cheyenne’s Marquise Holliday took the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches and the long jump at 20-7.
Falcons top Skyhawks
At Silverado, Foothill won 11 events en route to an 89-57 win over the Skyhawks.
Foothill’s Augey French was first in the high jump (6-3) and second in the long jump. Teammate Mike Whitaker won the long jump (19-5) and was second in the high jump.
Silverado’s Ladale Jackson won the 100 (10.7 seconds) and 200 (21.4 seconds).
Moapa Valley wins tri-meet
At Sunrise Mountain, Bowen Call won two events to lead Moapa Valley (74 points) past Sunrise Mountain (58) and Las Vegas (54).
Call was first in the 110 hurdles (16.5) and 300 hurdles (42.6).
Las Vegas’ Cameron Rogers won the 100 (10.8) and 200 (23.1), and teammate Antonio Verdugo was first in the shot put (47-2) and discus (120-7).
Sunrise Mountain’s Fahraad Zinnamon took the long jump (19-11) and triple jump (40-10).
Ducksworth, Shadow Ridge win tri-meet
At The Meadows, Zach Ducksworth was first in the high jump (5-8) and long jump (20-5¾) to lead Shadow Ridge (101.4) past Legacy (64.4) and The Meadows (25.2).
Neal Gaffin won the 110 hurdles (18.9) and pole vault (9-0) for The Meadows.
GIRLS
Tamera Williams won three events to lift Centennial’s girls track and field team to victory in a three-team meet at Cheyenne on Thursday.
Williams took the 100-meter dash in 12.9 seconds, the 200 in 26.3 seconds and the 100 hurdles in 12.9 seconds.
Centennial scored 107 points, topping Arbor View (37) and Cheyenne (29).
At The Meadows, Shadow Ridge won 10 events to place first with 122½ points.
Burton leads Sunrise Mountain to win
At Sunrise Mountain, Lushone Burton won the triple jump (31-11) and 100 (13.1) to lead the Miners (87) past Las Vegas (49) and Moapa Valley (40).
Silverado edges Foothill
At Silverado, Jasmyn Garcia and Diamond Bond each won two events to lead the Skyawks to a 76-65 win over Foothill.
