ROUNDUP: Dean wins thrice, leads Pahrump Valley girls to Heitkotter title

Pahrump Valley’s McKenzie Dean captured three events on Saturday to lead the Trojans to the girls team title at the Heitkotter Invitational at Faith Lutheran.
Dean was first in the 800- 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs.
She captured the 800 in a time of 2 minutes, 34.1 seconds. She won the 1,600 in 5:54 and the 3,200 in 13:08.1, almost a minute ahead of her nearest competitor.
Pahrump, the only Class 4A school in the 14-team event, finished with 210 points. Faith Lutheran (142) was second, and Laughlin (64) third.
Pahrump’s Ashley Lindgren won the 200 (28.9) and 400 (1:03.0). Ashley Rencher won the shot put (37 feet, 11½ inches) and discus (114-4) for the Trojans, who also finished first in the 3,200 relay.
Laughlin’s Ariana Hardy was the meet’s other double-winner, finishing first in the long jump (15-6½) and high jump (5-4).
Pahrump Valley also won the boys meet as Nick Stearns swept the hurdle events to help the Trojans finish with 160½ points.
Faith Lutheran (123) was second and Calvary Chapel (96) third.
Stearns won the 110 hurdles in 17.1 seconds, and took the 300 hurdles in 45.2.
Pahrump’s Alex Anderson won the triple jump (41-10), and the Trojans also won the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

Ryan Bartholomew won the 800 (2:10.3) and 1,600 (5:07.5), and Paul Morton took the shot put (44-4) and discus (117-8) for the Crusaders.
Spring Mountain’s Dominic Jones placed first in the 100 (11.7) and 200 (24.4).
