ROUNDUP: McMillan, Finley help Viking boys cruise past Cowboys

Alec McMillan and Royce Finley won two events apiece to lead Valley’s boys track team to a 106-40 home victory over Chaparral on Wednesday.

McMillan won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 14.7 seconds and the 1,600 in 4:50.5.

Finley took the long jump at 19 feet, 11 inches and the triple jump at 36-7½.

Chaparral’s Will Hernandez won the shot put at 43-10¼ and the discus at 119-3.

Jackson, Noone lead Skyhawks to win
At Canyon Springs, Ladale Jackson and Eric Noone each won two events to lift Silverado to a 112-74 victory over the Pioneers.

Jackson took the 100 (10.7) and 400 (51.8), while Noone won the shot put (45-9¼) and discus (106-0¾).

John Sneed won the 1,600 (4:51) and 3,200 (11:05.5) to pace Canyon Springs.

Matlock leads Panthers to win
At Centennial, Palo Verde’s Nahjee Matlock won the 100 (10.9) and 200 (21.8) as the Panthers pulled out a victory in a three-team meet.

Palo Verde finished with 90½ points to top Centennial (81½) and Spring Mountain (11).

Gators top Cougars
At Coronado, Green Valley won 11 events on its way to an 83-61 victory over the Cougars.
