ROUNDUP: Morant lifts Gorman boys to win

Demetris Morant won three events to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys track and field team to victory in a four-team meet Wednesday at Durango.
Gorman won with 113 points, followed by Durango (81), Spring Mountain (44) and Calvary Chapel (15).
Morant won the high jump at 6 feet, 4 inches, the long jump at 19-2 and the triple jump at 41-3.
Gorman’s Eric Klein won the 1,600-meter run in 4 minutes, 52.5 seconds and the 3,200 in 10:30.
Durango’s Marcus Williams won the 100-meter dash in 11.0 seconds and the 200 in 22.4, and teammate Shavandre Smith took the 110 hurdles in 16.6 and the 300 hurdles in 44.6.
Cody, Bulldogs win meet
At Centennial, Jerod Cody won two events to help Centennial score 112 points and top Shadow Ridge (65) and The Meadows (7).
Cody won the shot put at 49-5 and the discus at 151-8.
Shadow Ridge’s Patrik Kamp won the long jump at 19-7 and triple jump at 41-4, and teammate DeShawn Thompson took the 100 in 10.9 and the 200 in 22.6.
GIRLS
Tiana Bonds swept the hurdle events to lift Centennial’s girls track team to victory in a three-team meet at home Wednesday.
Bonds won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.9 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 44.4.
Centennial won with 132½ points, followed by Shadow Ridge (34) and The Meadows (19½).
Stueve, Manz lead Gaels to victory
At Durango, Taylor Stueve and Francesca Manz won two events each to lead Bishop Gorman to 92 points and a victory over Durango (55) and Calvary Chapel (27).
Stueve won the 800 in 2:32.5 and the 1,600 in 5:36.1.
Manz took the high jump at 4-10 and the triple jump at 31-3.
