ROUNDUP: Nash, Carroll lift Valley boys past Patriots, Dragons

Brian Nash and Arphaxad Carroll won two events apiece Tuesday to lead Valley’s boys track team to victory in a three-team meet at Del Sol.
Nash won the 110-meter hurdles in 17.5 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 44.2.
Carroll captured the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 9 inches, and the triple jump at 41-1.
Valley posted 74½ points, followed by Liberty (67) and Del Sol (44½).
Carlson helps Trojans to win
At Pahrump, Michael Carlson won the 110 hurdles in 16.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 43.9 to help Pahrump Valley to a win in a tri-meet.
The Trojans scored 96 points. Durango was second with 43 points, followed by Desert Oasis with 41.
The Diamondbacks’ Jacob Benham won the shot put (47-0) and discus (133½).
Morant leads Gorman to win
At Bishop Gorman, Demetris Morant won three events to lead the Gaels past visiting Sierra Vista and Agassi Prep.
Morant won the high jump (6-2), long jump (20-9) and triple jump (44-5) as the Gaels finished first with 97 points. Sierra Vista had 58, and Agassi Prep scored 10.
Williams, Cowboys win home meet
At Chaparral, Toure Williams and James Bryant each won two events to lead the Cowboys to victory in a home tri-meet.
Chaparral had 62 points to top Basic (58) and Rancho (38).
Williams won the 110 hurdles (15.0) and 300 hurdles (42.9). Bryant placed first in the high jump (5-8) and triple ump (37-11).
Rancho’s Charles Johnson won the 200 (22.4), 400 (51.1) and long jump (19-7).
Correa leads Mustangs to win
At Shadow Ridge, Jose Correa won two events to lead the Mustangs past Cheyenen, Spring Mountain and Word of Life.
Correa won the shot put (43-2) and discus (116-0) to lead Shadow Ridge, which finished with 136 points.
Cheyenne was second at 84.6, followed by Spring Mountain (23.6) and Word of Life (10.6).
GIRLS
Kaitlin Klem won three events to help Pahrump Valley breeze to victory in a home tri-meet.
The Trojans had 122 points. Desert Oasis had 40 points, and Durango scored 21.
Klem won the 100 in 12.3 seconds, the 200 in 25.8 and took the long jump with a mark of 15-6.
Naomi Argrabright swept the hurdle events for the Trojans, winning the 100 in 17.4 and the 300 in 49.9. Teammate Megan Hamrick won the shot put (34-9) and discus (92-0).
Wharton leads Vikings to victory
At Del Sol, Kennedy Wharton won a pair of events to lead Valley to 84 points and a victory over Liberty (72) and Del Sol (27).
Wharton won the 200 in 26.6 seconds and the high jump at 4-6.
Liberty’s Kayla Herrera won the 1,600 (6:32.5) and 3,200, teammate Gabrielle Palazzolo took the long jump (15-1) and pole vault (9-0), and Ashlie Blake won the shot put (44-4¾) and discus (145-2) for the Patriots.
Dikes leads Gaels to home win
At Bishop Gorman, Zhane Dikes won the long jump (16-6) and was second in the high jump (4-8) to lead the Gaels to victory in a tri-meet.
Gorman finished with 100 points to top Sierra Vista (70) and Agassi Prep (1).
Sini, Basic win meet
At Chaparral, Fetinejas Sini won the shot put (33-3¼) and discus (100-4) to lead Basic to victory in a three-team meet.
The Wolves had 61 points to top Rancho (54) and Chaparral (38).
Rancho’s Aryn Maxwell was first in the 400 (1:00.5) and 800 (2:28.7), and teammate Parris McCray won the 100 hurdles (17.4) and long jump (14-9½).
Shadow Ridge girls top Cheyenne
At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs won three of four relays on the way to victory in a three-team meet.
Shadow Ridge finished with 90 points. Cheyenne had 72, and Word of Life had 12.
