ROUNDUP: Robinson, Wojtowicz lift Cheyenne boys to win

John Robinson and Alex Wojtowicz each won two events to lead Cheyenne’s boys track and field team to a home victory in a three-team meet Tuesday.

Cheyenne won with 105 points, followed by Mojave (26) and Pahranagat Valley (21).
Robinson won the 100-meter dash in 11.4 seconds and the long jump at 19 feet, 3 inches.

Wojtowicz took the shot put at 44 feet, 10 inches, and the discus at 123-6.

Mojave’s Jalon Dean won the 110 hurdles in 16.2, the 300 hurdles in 41.8 and the high jump at 6-2.

Trio helps Skyhawks tie Cougars
At Silverado, Zack Sanchez, Jerrell Norman and Dominic Smallwood won two events apiece to help the Skyhawks tie Coronado with 84 points in a tri-meet.

An Australian team took third with 15 points.

Sanchez won the 110 hurdles in 17.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 42.9. Norman took the 100 in 11.8 and the 200 in 24.3.

Smallwood won the long jump at 20-10¼ and the triple jump at 45-1¼.

Coronado’s James Villarreal won the shot put at 46-0¾ and the discus at 130-5.

Harris, Nelson lead Gators
At Desert Pines, Doug Harris and Matt Nelson each won two events to lead Green Valley to victory over Moapa Valley and Desert Pines.

Harris won the 1,600 (4:56.6) and 3,200 (10:42.2), and Nelson won the 110 hurdles (17.8) and 300 hurdles (42.1) for the Gators, who finished with 124 points.

Moapa Valley was second with 36.67 points and Desert Pines had 26.
