ROUNDUP: Stearns’ triple leads Pahrump boys past Western

Nick Stearns won three events to lead Pahrump Valley’s boys track and field team to an 81-56 victory at Western on Wednesday.

Stearns took the 110-meter hurdles in 15.4 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 42.6 seconds and the pole vault with a mark of 12 feet.

Western’s De’Andre Brown won the 100 in 11.6 seconds and the high jump at 5 feet, 4 inches.

Shelton leads Trailblazers by Mountain Lions
At Durango, Matt Shelton won the 800 (2:07) and the 1,600 (4:53) to lead the host Trailblazers to a 95-51 victory over Sierra Vista.

Sierra Vista’s Matt Murphy took the 110 hurdles (17.84), 200 (23.74) and high jump (5-10).

Maiscei Grier added wins in the long jump (18-7¼) and triple jump (41-4) for Sierra Vista.

Miller, Bibbs lead Basic to victory
At Basic, Donivin Miller and Chris Bibbs won two events each to pace the Wolves to a home victory over Coronado and Del Sol.

Miller took the 110 hurdles (16.6) and 300 hurdles (43.6), and Bibbs won the 100 (10.88) and 200 (23.6).

Also for Basic, Blaze Galardy won the pole vault at 14-0.

Basic scored 87 points, followed by Coronado (73) and Del Sol (29).

Coronado’s Jake Freeman was first in the shot put (40-3½) and discus (106-1).
