ROUNDUP: Triple winner McMurray fuels Cowboys’ victory

Chaparral’s Malcom McMurray won three events Tuesday to lead the Cowboys to the win in a three-team meet at Chaparral.

The Cowboys finished with 93 points. Valley (70) was second and Rancho (22) third.

McMurray won the 200-meter dash in 22.4 seconds. He also won the 400 (51.7) and long jump (20 feet, 7½ inches).

Fox helps Foothill top Del Sol
At Foothill, Tavin Fox won the 200 (24.1) and 400 (54.4) to lead the Falcons to an 82-63 win over Del Sol.

Del Sol’s Orlando Kelker swept the hurdle events, winning the 110 (16.3) and 300 (41.8). The Dragons’ Logan Nestor won the discus (123-7) and shot put (42-4).

Panthers roll to tri-meet win
At Shadow Ridge, Courtney Robinson, Tyrone Blake and Zach Smith each won two events as Palo Verde finished first with 96½ points. Arbor View (53½) was second and Shadow Ridge (38) third.

Robinson won the 100 (10.9) and 200 (22.4). Blake took the 110 hurdles (15.4) and triple jump (43-1). Smith won the 800 (2:04.4) and 1,600 (4:33.1).

Three double winners carry Patriots
At Silverado, a trio of double winners lifted Liberty to a win over Silverado and Coronado.

Liberty scored 87 points, followed by Silverado (66) and Coronado (33).

Liberty’s Shawn Murray won the 100 (10.5) and 200 (21.9), Marc Roach took the long jump (19-8) and triple jump (39-5), and Eric Cisneros won the shot put (44-5¼) and discus (129-2).

GIRLS

Palo Verde’s Natalie Brown-Denby won both throws Tuesday as the Panthers edged Shadow Ridge and Arbor View at Shadow Ridge.

Brown-Denby won the shot with a throw of 29 feet, 6 inches. Her discus throw of 91-11 also placed first as Palo Verde finished with 66½ points.

Arbor View was second with 60½, and Shadow Ridge finished with 56.

Arbor View’s Maddie McCoy won the 100 hurdles (16.8 seconds) and 300 hurdles (50.20).

Shadow Ridge’s Rebecca Brown won the 200 (26.2) and 400 (1:00.5).

Sidner hurdles Foothill past Del Sol
At Foothill, McCall Sidner won the 100 hurdles (17.0) and 300 hurdles (55.6) to help Foothill defeat Del Sol, 78-66.

Allie Suarez won the long jump (15-4½) and triple jump (31-5½) for the Falcons.

Del Sol’s Rasheika Ivey took the shot put (32-9½) and discus (118-0).

Vikings win tri-meet
At Chaparral, Valley won six events to win a three-team meet.

The Vikings finished with 76 points. Rancho was second with 63½, and Chaparral finished third with 40½.

Coronado wins three-team meet
At Silverado, three double winners helped the Cougars beat the Skyhawks and Patriots.

Coronado won with 98 points, followed by Silverado (45) and Liberty (43).

Coronado’s Brooke Ruppert won the 100 (12.9) and 200 (27.2), Michaelanne Laurent took the 800 (2:20.1) and 1,600 (5:10.7), and

Emily Kashka won the high jump (4-8) and pole vault (10-6).

Liberty’s Carlotta Island took the triple jump (34-1½) and long jump (15-6¼).
