TRACK: Arbor View boys, girls win Richard Lewis Invitational titles

James Bryant and William Hernandez weren't enough to overcome Arbor View's boys on Friday.

Chaparral's Bryant and Hernandez each took two individual events, but the Aggies used their depth to capture the team title at the Richard Lewis Invitational at Sunrise Mountain.

Arbor View scored 133 points. Chaparral was second with 90. The host Miners took third with 85, followed by Green Valley with 80 and Bonanza and Pahrump Valley with 71 each.

Bryant cleared 6 feet, 4 inches to win the high jump and traveled 43-7 to take the triple jump.

Hernandez won the shot put (53-9 1/2) and the discus (165-6).

Bonanza also had a pair of double winners in Jayveon Taylor and Robert Rudd.

Taylor swept the sprints, winning the 100 in 10.75 seconds and took the 200 in 21.37.

Rudd claimed the 800 in 2:00.94 and the 1,600 in 4:35.17.

GIRLS

Arbor View made it a sweep of the team titles, holding off Pahrump in the girls meet.

The Aggies had 153 points. Pahrump, which got two wins apiece from Kaitlin Klem and Amanda Head, was second with 133, followed by Green Valley with 105. Sunrise Mountain (55) was a distant fourth.
