TRACK: Bishop Gorman boys, girls defend home track against Bonanza

Nikolas Bracken won the 200-meter dash and long jump on Wednesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys track team to a 94-52 home victory over Bonanza.

Bracken won the 200 in 22.64 seconds, and took the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 5 inches.

Pierson Mook won the 110 hurdles (15.69), was second in the 300 hurdles and ran on the winning 1,600 relay for the Gaels.

Gorman’s Kylen Ulrey won the shot put (43-8) and was second in the discus.

Bonanza’s R.J. McCarter won the 300 hurdles (41.04) and high jump (6-0). McCarter also finished second in the 110 hurdles and long jump.

Brandon Adams was first in the 1,600 (4:48.81) and 3,200 (11:12.43) for the Bengals.

Las Vegas wins three-team meet

At Rancho, Marlon Harrison and Cameron Fullow dominated the jumps to help Las Vegas win a three-team meet.

The Wildcats finished with 101 points to top Valley (41) and Rancho (26).

Harrison won the triple jump with a mark of 41-3, and cleared 6-0 in the high jump to tie Fullow for first. Harrison also was third in the long jump.

Fullow was second in the long jump and third in the triple jump.

GIRLS

Madalyn Butler, Elizabeth Jamrozy and Olivia Smith each won two events as Bishop Gorman rolled to a 113-27 win over visiting Bonanza.

Butler won the 100 hurdles (19.8) and 300 hurdles (55.96), Jamrozy was first in the 200 (26.13) and 400 (1:00.02) and Smith won the high jump (4-10) and long jump (16-1).

Smith also was second in the triple jump and third in the 200 for the Gaels.

Gorman’s Ishani Meeks won the 1,600 (6:17.5), was second in the 3,200 and ran on the winning 3,200 relay team.

Madison Ebens won the 3,200 (14:17.5) and was second in the 1,600, Jill McPherson won the discus (116-0) and was second in the shot put, and Taylor Girard won the triple jump (32-2½) and was second in the long jump for the Gaels.

Banks leads Las Vegas to win

At Rancho, Khaylah Banks won two events to lead Las Vegas past Rancho and Valley.

Banks won the long jump with a mark of 14-10, and cleared 4-2 to tie for first in the high jump for the Wildcats, who finished with 85 points.

Rancho was second with 58, and Valley had five points.
