TRACK: Justin Meeks, Foothill boys roll past Valley

Justin Meeks won three individual events Tuesday to lead Foothill’s boys track and field team to a 113-33 home victory over Valley.

Meeks swept the hurdles, winning the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.05 seconds and the 300 low hurdles in 42.95. He also cleared 8 feet, 6 inches to capture the pole vault.

Ian Hughes won the 100 (11.39) and 200 (23.75) for the Falcons. Devin Cabrales won the long jump (19-10½) and was second in the triple jump for Foothill, and teammate Charles Shepherd won the discus (122-7) and was second in the shot put.

Valley’s Christian Franklin won the 1,600 (4:44.13) and was second in the 800, and Surafal Feleke won the 3,200 (10:49.11) and was second in the 1,600 for the Vikings.

Durango wins home meet

At Durango, Jacob Bourgault and Demetrius Valdez each won two individual events and ran on a winning relay to lead the Trailblazers past Clark and Calvary Chapel.

Bourgault won the 110 hurdles (15.2) and 300 hurdles (41.0) and ran on the winning 1,600 relay team. Valdez took the 100 (10.5) and long jump (17-9) and ran on the winning 400 relay team for Durango, which had 88½ points. Clark was second with 58½, and Calvary Chapel had 5.

Frankie Bisacky won the 1,600 (4:39.0) and 3,200 (10:35.0) for the Trailblazers.

Girls

Falcons roll past Valley

At Foothill, the Falcons won every event and rolled to a 132-6 victory over Valley.

Whitley Brow won the long jump (15-3¾) and triple jump (32-1½), and teammate Mari Felde-Liljedal was first in the 300 hurdles (55.67) and high jump (4-0) to lead the Falcons.

Foothill’s Sarah Vanderhoven was first in the 1,600 (5:45.28) and second in the pole vault, and Hannah Atkerson won the shot put (31-1½) and was second in the discus for the Falcons.

Chargers win tri-meet

At Durango, Shaquille Guzman won the 100 in 12.8 seconds and ran on two winning relays to lead Clark past the Trailblazers and Calvary Chapel.

Guzman ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams for the Chargers, who had 65 points. Durango was second with 50, and the Lions had 29.

Autumn Flowers won the 300 hurdles in 49.0, ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams and was second in the 100 hurdles for Clark.

LaShae Warren won the shot put (26-2) and discus (69-11) for Durango.

Calvary Chapel’s Talina Inguanzo placed first in the high jump (4-4) and triple jump (25-9).
