Top athletes: Linda Luchsinger (So.), Jennifer Berrelleza (Jr.), Shamae Stewart (Sr.), Hali Tripplett (Jr.), Jessica Preitzel (Sr.), Jaeda Allen (Sr.), Michelle Carrillo (Sr.), Ashley Poznanski (Sr.)

Outlook: On paper, the Cowboys don't look young with many of the potential top athletes seniors and juniors, but there isn't a lot of track experience.

"The team is untested and young," Harris said.

Harris is hoping Luchsinger can compete for a state title in the 800 and 1600.

"The team is distance-heavy with a competive group of young ladies pushing each other every day to be the best," Harris said. "The team will continue to improve throughout the season and make a run at regionals."

Nevada high school state championships aren’t exclusive to just teams in the Silver State. Six out-of-state schools compete athletically for state titles against Nevada schools.
