Desert Pines 2013 Girls Track Capsule

DESERT PINES

Head coach: Becky Riddle, sixth season

Returning letter winners: Six

Top athletes: Raynette Hines (Jr.), Kenia Lopez (So.), Keana Greenhouse (Sr.), Aylin Rodriguez (So.), Alondra Diaz (Jr.), Jessica Jacocks (So.)

Outlook: The Jaguars have a handful of returning regional qualifiers and have extra confidence after Lopez, Diaz, Greenhouse, Rodriguez and Hinez helped the cross country team to its first state meet appearance.

Hines, Rodriguez and Jacocks all were part of the 400 and 800 relay teams that qualified for regionals. Riddle said she expects newcomers Cydney Myles, Tateyona Gainey and Tavasha Banks to add depth to the already strong relay teams.

"The girls are looking to build off a strong 2012 season in which three relays placed at state," Riddle said.
